On the subject of CBA football, let's talk a bit about Darien Williams.

Williams is a WR in the class of 2025. I have him as our of the top 10 players in the state in that class.

Track guy. Has run a 10.80 100m, which makes him the fastest guy ever at CBA. Also finished 5th in the state in the 200m as a sophomore with a 21.98 last June.

He has offers from BC, Colorado, UMass, Pitt and Penn State,

But so far, nothing from Syracuse. I assume that will change with the new staff.

Interview with Dan Tortora after his first D1 offer, which was from Colorado. At that point, he had only played JV football. Had a terrific sophomore season and was recently named 1st team All CNY. He will surely be named all state was well in a couple of weeks.

NOTE:
For the second time in the last three years, Christian Brothers Academy is the kings of New York State. CBA knocking off Carmel (Section I Champion) on Sunday, in the Class AA State Championship Game 31-14 at the JMA Wireless Dome.

The Brothers would score on their first two possessions of the game. CBA’s defense would force three turnovers in the game.

Porter Matt finished his CBA career, tossing for 397 yards and four touchdowns. CBA junior Darien Williams hauled in seven catches for 234 yards and three scores.

It’s the Brothers third state title in school history, and second Class AA State Championship. CBA becomes the first Section III team since West Genesee in 2007 to win a State Title.

Christian Brothers Academy finishes the season a perfect 14-0.

Williams is the highest rated recruit in NYS per two4seven. Grade of 88. I thought the other 6’5 WR was their top players but his monster 236 yard, 3TD game vs Carmel certainly put him on the map. Hate seeing his profile pic over there in a Penn St jersey. Only 160lbs but the kid can fly. Would be great in the slot. CBA has multiple P5 kids coming through. Really hope we get involved and land him.
