SU was vilified in the media (all media) during the NCAA tourney. Compare to UNC? Crickets. Expect any sanctions they get to be a joke. I expect any weak sanctions they get to fall mostly on football and women's basketball, not men's basketball. The NCAA system is rigged. Certain schools have powerful connections that shield them.

Out of curiosity what is your opinion of the issue that Syracuse had with the NCAA a few years ago with the paper for Fab?
 
Like I said, you all will believe what you want and your mind is already made up so trying to engage in any kind of meaningful discourse is a waste of energy and will prob be fruitless. Needless to say the national media has been clueless to the actual facts of this case for a long long time and this nyt article is just hype generated on final four weekend, and does nothing but continue to parrot blatant lies that is only worthy of some second rate rag paper. Quite unfortunate.

But as I said unc has some heavy hitters on their side who by the time this is over will expose the NCAA hypocrisy for what it is and a field day will be had. Until then, you all can keep believing what you'd like.

I think it was another case of the NCAA taking way too long to rule on anything and the time they held you all hostage was probably punishment enough for whatever the ridiculous infraction your player or program committed. So in essence, I think it was probably a joke. Taking away boeheims wins is ridiculous.

...and on top of that, those no show / free grade classes were used to artificially inflate the GPAs of athletes, which may have kept some eligible who otherwise should not have been. Ultimately, that is going to be where the NCAA is going to have to come down on them, IMO.

That these dummy courses were available to everyone doesn't excuse two decades of academic impropriety.

You won't have a hard time selling anybody here on the notion that the Notoriously Corrupt Athletic Association is a shady outfit. But can you articulate in a few sentences why the UNC charges are overblown?
 
In the time you've taken to post all these times and NOT actually say anything concrete in defense of the program, you keep dancing around in circles and not actually saying anything of substance.

I have no doubt UNC has hired the best lawyers $ can buy, because they stand to lose BIGLY if this goes against them.

This is every UNC fan's argument. The NCAA is wrong and the media is misrepresenting the facts. Both those statements are believable but they never explain what actually happened.

I actually read the book and it is very persuasive that UNC went way, way over the line for a very, very long time.

You say we have made up our minds. So have you. Both sides presumably on the perception of the information we have. Article was a hit piece. However, that specific article isn't the issue.

What's the crux of ur argument? What is the ah-ha moment UNC is going to pull on the NCAA?

I get it, your rival fans so it benefits you to remain ignorant and throw around cliches and parrot the official line. You are misreading us badly. We have less animosity towards UNC than just about any other team in general. Our primary beef is the kid gloves treatment UNC has gotten from the media and the preposterous soft shoe the NCAA has done to avoid going after UNC. You are here with a sob story about hit pieces and other anti UNC propaganda. I'm sorry but you have no clue what any of that is. It's like complaining about stubbing your toe to a guy who had both legs amputated. We got absolutely smoked by the NCAA for allegations that amount to 1/1000th of what UNC's own reports have uncovered and we know you will get no punishment.
