i haven't read everything but I haven't seen any comments on Strickland or Pierre. Does Pierre have a chance to play? Short yardage at least? I hope so, we need someone who can break a tackle given our line issues.

Yup, surprisingly little talk of Pierre as anemic as our rb situation is. Total opportunity for a frosh rb. That said, i guess Pierre hasn't gone out and grabbed it! Sad bc we need a bigger feature back. I think Mo is a slot guy in the backfield.
 
Moe Neal caught two passes last year. He needs to get the ball more in space this season.

Whatever happened to Jacob Hill...the 5ft-6 freshman running back on the 2015 team? I don't think he was on last years roster?

The little guy had moves, but when he had the ball I always felt some comfort knowing that Crouse Irving was close by.
 
He transferred. I can't remember where but I think it might have been D3 somewhere close to home. A very entertaining player-more quick than fast I think but it would have been fun to see him get the ball in space.

2 things: Dontes reads HAVE to improve which I'm sure they have and second...he's a very good receiver so I don't understand why Dungey just doesn't dump the ball to him instead of taking off and risking injury. Same for Moe. I understand that the O-line struggled with run blocking but the reads were poor as well and that made for a 3.5 or less per yard situation which is unacceptable. It seems Strickland put the work in and will be thrilled if he has improved as much as many have said.

How do you have a poor read when all the gaps are immediately filled due to poor blocking? When the line did its job, we were able to run the ball for big gains. There was simply nowhere for him to go.
 
I don't think the reads in the running game were all that poor, occasionally yes but mostly poor blocking.. the reads in the passing game hurt way more and hopefully they have cleaned that up as well as added the tweaks to the reads they held back on last year.
