Doesn't Fowler use that?Kid is a tank. Don't love the knee on the ground technique, however.
We had to get someone that can function there capably. Lets hope this is the one.
I have to think this is a coaching element. He has to learn that scoop with the back of the pocket move the Dookie used against us.
Ya, you're right but he has a different style. DeMarco likes the scrum and relies on his wings. We've been trying that for a few years without much success.Doesn't Fowler use that?
Jamming the ball in the back of the cross just doesn't seem like lacrosse. Oh well... Massa did it as well.Fowler goes for the pinch and pop. With the hopes off picking it up and getting a fast break. That's the face off method popular now.

If this guy is to be successful, SU will need much improved wing play.Good catch, not a huge fan of that technique. We tried that with Conroy this year and outside of the Princeton game it was a disaster. The biggest issue is that if the other Faceoff guy isnt also on the ground he can scoop up the ball and be halfway down the field while our guy is still on the ground, happened to Conroy on numerous draws this year, even ones he initially won. Demarco seems like hes more agile/quicker to get up off the ground then Conroy though. Either way I like the pickup, we need all the help we can get.

I've heard the technique is called "pinch and pop". There're are kids doing it at the 3-4 grade level.
It's nothing new or ground breaking been around forever. It's all about anticipation and quickness.Seems like something that's pretty easy to teach. I say Desko should borrow Jerome Smith next season and teach him how to "pinch and pop". We will never lose a face off.
