I really, really hope we punch Butgers in the mouth hard in our farewell tour at Sh#tscataway...

I also hope it's the kind of beatdown that is embarassing.
  • Jerome Smith for 185 rushing and 3 TDs
  • Marcus Sales for 135 in receiving and 2 TDs
  • Alec Lemon for 110 receiving and 2 TDs
  • Ashston Broyld 65 combo rushing and receiving with two TD's out of the wildcat
  • +3 FGs for good measure
Final Score
SU: 72
Butgers: 16

After said beatdown, I never want play Butgers again. They are dead to me.

I peruse over to their board every now and then and find it funny the hate they have towards Marrone.

If they hate Marrone, he must be doing a good job.

That will be a very tough game. First, it's at Rutgers. The crowd will be excited.

Second, the Knights have almost everybody back from a great defense.

Third, they have experience on offense and fourth they had a great recruiting year.

So, I hope you're right but I will be very concerned about that game.

Hard to tell how they feel about Marrone.

Most of the conversation seems to be whether the SEC, the B1G or the ACC will invite them first.

There's more delusion there than there is on Sullivan Way in Trenton where the NJ State Hospital is.

Yes, they did say SEC as in Southeast Conference and not the Securities and Exchange Commission.

I know... I can still dream the dream of a severe arse-whupping...

I wonder if, with Schiano gone, they'll actually do something with their good recruiting...

Honestly, I still haven't recovered from last year's game. brutal loss... brutal.

You forgot to factor in their third rate coaching staff.

I dont normally agree with OrangePA and his vision of other BE teams but I have to say I agree with his opinion on Rutgers. I think there offense will be very shaky but there D should be pretty good they have a lot of returning starters including at least 3-4 seniors. Also as he noted they have a couple guys from this past class and the class two years ago who were pretty highly rated who could make a big impact. I expect another offensively challenged slugest if both teams are still healthy.

Fourth, Kyle Flood.

Fifth, overinflated Brian Dohn recruiting classes

Sixth, we should have beaten that "great" defense last year.

So I'm not too worried as I have this one marked as a W.

Knowing both staffs a little bit, I would say that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. While this is Flood's first rodeo, his staff has more experience than HCDM's first staff had including two former FCS head coaches.

Agree, it's more fun to make fun of them for their conference affiliation. Because our house is stone, brick, giant, and awesome. Their house, if they're lucky, is our shed.

If you were overshadowed and destroyed for years, then found your window opening at the end of the P years, found it wide open in the GRob years to the tune of 4 games that weren't even close. Then found that Marrone closed it back up quickly (5 second seal job to fix last year's leak), you'd hate Marrone too.

Glass houses? Not sure about that--when our HC took over the program--at our program's nadir talent / depth wise--he promptly beat Rutgers at their peak twice in a row, and blew a gift wrapped opportunity to defeat them a third consecutive time.

Just saying.

You will be watching this game All4... don't pretend you won't be...

I'll be watching the Orange against somebody no one cares about.

No. That's not what I mean.

I'm not sure too many viewed Schiano and his staff as a talented group of coaches.

I'm pretty sure that Schiano changed coaching personnel repeatedly and constantly - there was very little continuity at Rutgers over the last few years.

So, I don't see the new coaching staff having all that much impact - negative impact - on the game this fall.

The Knights have a lot of players and a lot of guys with a lot of experience. That will have impact.

Will be intersesting to see what first year coach Kyle Flood can do against "offensive guru" and longest tenured coach in the Big East Doug Marrone on 10/13.

I'm thinking SU will have a hard time scoring more then 20 agianst our D and Rutgers wins to the tune of 24-17. Looking forward to it and adding a W in our final(atleast for a while) game played...

I'm thinking rutgers has trouble scoring more than 20 against our D.

I think you guys are more apt to go 3-9 this year.
