That was an absolute killer. Had all the momentum, chance to go up two scores and you pull that crap? Horrible call.
Totally agree. Stupid gimmick low percentage bullsht. Cubit loves that garbage. Might work in the Mac.

Say it with me, Phil Montgomery, Phil Montgomery.

Time to spend some of that ACC money.

I like going for the dagger. Hate how long a play like that takes to develop with a banged up OL.

Just do a fake freeze option and step back and let 'er rip.

Love the idea of going for it all though.

As HC maybe but no way you leave Baylor for a gig as OC here.

I'm on board.

Yeah, gotta wonder what McDonald was thinking there.

I'm not talking OC.

I'd have no problem with it. Love Shafer, but if an upgrade is possible, you have to pull the trigger.

Two years ago had a NFL Offensive staff with one of the best top 5 DC's in college football that could outscheme, adjust, and gameplan almost anyone they faced. The position coaching was some of the best in the country.

Now it's a MAC level group with a HC trying to find his way and there is signficant regression in performance with no fall off in, and in many ways improved, overall talent level.

It was just such a bad call. No feel for what he's seeing on the field.

They had all the momentum. Have nothing against taking a shot down field. Just run four verts, or run a play action post to Ishmael with the slot guy crossing to the corner. Anything but that with a OL that is struggling, but had started playing better and completed two nice drives.

Yep, you have three WRs who may not have the speed of other college football WRs, but they have shown that they are great at finding the ball and coming down with it. So just throw it down the field to one of them. Not some long developing 2-3 pitch fiasco when you have band members readying to line up at RG.

2 years ago we weren't playing this tough a schedule either

Two years ago had a very good Nwestern team, USC, at Minny, and at Missouri out of conference.

The Lville team we played in 2012 was much better than this one. Cinci was 10-3, Rutgers 9-4, one of the best defenses in the country, Uconn was better than this NCSt team we just played, Temple better than Wake (the worst team in D-1), Pitt about the same as it is this year.

I was the first one to say the way this years schedule was put together was ridiculous. But that has nothing to do with struggling against Nova and losing to Maryland.

Yesterday they needed to find a way to close the deal.

I don't even think that play would work in Pop Warner. It takes way too long to develop, especially when you have a makeshift offensive line. They cannot sustain their blocks for 2 seconds in a normal passing situation, so I don't know what Lester was thinking when you have a play that'll take 5-6 seconds to develop.

we were well on our way to until 2 plays. Not recovery that fumble deep in nc state territory and the pick 6

I was talking more conference schedule of athletes Rutgers, uconn and cincy don't have athletes that most schools in the acc have. We have also been decimated by injuries this year , I forget how were the injuries in 2012?

While you and I have been aholes to each other on this board in the past. I have to agree with what you are saying. Hopefully the AD office realizes this I apologized to DM(I doubt he cares that what some idiot SU fan thinks) for my frustration after the 2012 MN game. We were spoiled with DM if he learned the 4th down stuff he would have been perfect.

Shafer needs a new offensive staff but I doubt he will do anything but replace McDonald.

C'mon Chris our 2012 schedule may not have had Florida state or Notre Dame but it was a tough schedule. 2014 FSU is a paper tiger this year they have more talent and a Heisman QB putting them over the top but they will get smashed in the playoffs.

This talk about the schedule is crazy. Navy put up more points last night on ND than Cuse. Florida St is not as good as last year. Clemson had their 2nd string QB. NC State didn't have a conference win in 1+ years.

No more excuses. Need to win some games- especially at home against comparable opponents. I mean BC lost at home to Colo St, but with 6 wins already I bet their fans aren't bitching about it anymore.

It worked against Rutgers in the early 90's. Graves to Ismail for the TD.

the order of the schedule this year is my main problem with the schedule not level of competition
