Post-Standard started today with weekly articles tracking the 1987 team's games. First one was Maryland at the Dome. Check out the attendance. Listed in the article as 35,234. Remember 1987 was two years removed from a minor bowl and coming off a losing season in 1986. Sound familiar?
One could argue the fan support is actually better now given the events of the past decade both with the program and the local economy. In any event, that opening attendance is consistent with what is well-known on this board -- there is baseline attendance in the 35K to 39K range that only improves significantly when we win. When we win, that base range goes up 10K. It's not "rocketship science" (yeah that was intentional) and I believe (hope) we're on the right track to add that extra 10K per game.
See y'all in Jersey where history will be made!
