1Q: CMU 14, Purdue 0.

Purdue is bad. CMU is not that good. The Boilers have sucked since Joe Tiller retired. Their QB play is terrible.
They want Kyle Orton back.

Hazell took over a Purdur team last year that eeked out a bowl bid the year before and promptly went 1-11 with the only win against an FCS team. Sounds GROB enough to me. CMU isn't horrible but if we improve from the Nova debacle we will be fine. Purdue is horrid

Rawls is pretty damn good, we must contain him next week.

No harm to SU if they roll them. I'd still bet on Purdue, though, given how they pushed them around on their one TD drive.
I'd like to revise my prediction -- CMU is running the ball well.

Keep in mind CM is playing without its best player, Titus.

I was really hoping to say to myself after watching this game today, "we're good, we'll win by 28"... but after watching this, not so much. Granted, Purdue is horrible, but CMU moves the ball well and attacks on D.

We will have our work cut out for us, but we will win this one by 2 tds.

2-0.

Cmu looks solid to me. We're in trouble next weekend if we don't have our shyte together.

And we needed the biggest gift from God in the history of SU football (a missed 35 yard dead-on field goal) to beat Villanova.

I definitely think we can win next Saturday, I'm just saying it will be a challenging game on the road and that CMU is definitely worthy of our respect.

(Chattanooga is currently ranked #15 in FCS)
And let's not forget the missed FG in the first half.

very unlikely shafer doesn't have the team ready to go after the lacking effort week 1

Should this make us feel better -- or question the rankings?

I don't think Purdue is horrible. To go into West Lafeyette ,where it is always a raucous environment even when Purdue is down, and be up 18 points going into the 4Q is worth noticing. Syracuse will need to play MUCH better to be competitive next week.

Unfortunately we heard the same thing about the team "being ready" for Nova in week 1. At this point I need to see it on the field. Purdue is not a good team but CMU is no pushover, were going to need to be light years better then we were against Nova to win.

CMU's back, Rawls (UM transfer), is a strong runner and they seem to set everything up with the run, i.e., play action/screens. We need to be able to stop their run game and contain any play action so I hope the secondary doesn't get burned.

I have no idea how this game is going to play out. CMU seems well coached and I really don't know how our team is going to play next week and I do not want to based my hopes on last week's performance.

Purdue has a good drive going to try start a late rally and then throw a pick.

Purdue is horrible and an embarrassment to the B1G.

Will be a good game next Saturday in Mt. Pleasant, MI.

CMU is plus six so far this season on turnovers, we have to do a good protecting the ball vs these guys.

A good game? If Purdue is so horrible then shouldn't SU win easily?

Yowza. Any time a MAC team goes to a P5 school and wins, it's news.

So much for being a layup.

Absolutely the best result for us - the guys will be ready to play - nobody will be taking CMU for granted.

After watching CMU steamroll Purdue, Shafer was spotted flipping cars in his neighborhood and punting kittens. He wants Chippewa blood next weekend.
