does anyone remember if there was much said about the 10 sec violation SU committed with 29 secs to go? I hear Jim Nance mention it but they didn't bother with a replay and watching it now its a pretty clear violation on the clock at least.
We definitely got screwed. The NCAA made up for it with the Scoop over and back violation a couple years ago
Yeah, but didn't they rebound most of their missed free throws?Missed FT's won us that title game though. Nick Collison was absolutely awful from the line.
You're kidding, right? I just assume you're being sarcastic since that's the excuse Kansas fans always use.Missed FT's won us that title game though. Nick Collison was absolutely awful from the line.

That said, I still wish Scoop had known the freaking rule and just gone completely into the back court. His trying to stay in the front court apparently convinced the ref that he was doing something wrong.
Okay, to say that missed FT's exclusively won us the game isn't fair, but to dismiss them completely isn't fair either. And that's a flawed excuse, because missing FT's can be blamed on no one but your own players. Collison's missed FT's definitely contributed to the win, but he has no one to blame but himself. You're kidding, right? Despite the fact that Kansas got more points off of offensive rebounds on those missed FTs than they would have had they just made the actual foul shots.
Uhh actually them throwing Gerry into press row and messing up his hand for the second half made the game closer than it really was. My Kansas loving father in law will say the same.Missed FT's won us that title game though. Nick Collison was absolutely awful from the line.
Again - they scored more points on the offensive rebounds from those missed free throws than they would have from the made free throws. This is a fact. I went back and looked at the play by play in the box score and tallied up the points not long after the game to confirm this.Okay, to say that missed FT's exclusively won us the game isn't fair, but to dismiss them completely isn't fair either. You are right, I did the same thing.Again - they scored more points on the offensive rebounds from those missed free throws than they would have from the made free throws. This is a fact. I guess I'd never considered that. Now that you bring it up, that makes sense. Graves (I think that was his name) seemed to be all over the offensive boards for them. Regardless, it's about time to pop in the Finally Orange DVD and enjoy the game again before this year's tourney begins.Again - they scored more points on the offensive rebounds from those missed free throws than they would have from the made free throws.
