Darryl Watkins was a real disappointment.

But damn, did he makes some good, athletic plays at both ends which we haven’t seen since...Fab Melo.

We had men in the post in both 06 and 09. Men with men’s bodies. So glaringly obvious from these replays.

And no, we will not see the likes of the BET again. It was an absolute rite of March as much as the Madness and as much as St Patrick’s Day.

A glorious celebration of college basketball that sometimes ended gloriously and other times depressingly.

But it was must see, must do and we all marked our calendars and did our pilgrimages to the Blarney with hope for the days and weeks to come.
