2013 Guards

Not trying to look ahead to next year but I got to thinking... If Waiters does turn pro, wouldn't that leave us with just 3 guards on next years team? (Carter-Williams, Triche and Cooney) One of which is a freshman who has never played?

Is it just me or is that really thin for 2 positions (PG and SG)? I would think we would preferably want 4 guys who can dependably play those 2 positions.

Not that this is going to happen, but I could also see this season ending on a high note and Triche deciding to move on after 3+ years.

Even in 2003 when we only played 8 guys we still had 4 guards (Duany, McNamara, Edelin and Pace).

Next season, the three that you mention give us two guys who can play PG and two guys who can play SG (three if Mookie stays). Thin if there is an injury, etc., but otherwise pretty good looking trio given talent at the other positions. 2013-2014 is when it starts getting dicey, we'll be down to MCW and TC plus frosh. If MCW were to leave after next season (probably unlikely given his slow start this season), or there was an injury, we'll be screwed. We really could have used a guard in the 2012 class, so that we would have some experience coming off the bench. Since we didn't get one, we now need a very good guard in 2013 who can be immediately productive off the bench. Unfortunately, I don't see much on the recruiting lists, except for Ennis, who seems to be going elsewhere.

why do people think Ennis is going elsewhere? the last video someone posted he said his list is long and he has no favorites
