What we know:

SU will play BC, Clemson, FSU, Maryland, NC State and Wake Forest.
SU will play Pitt (our cross over rival).
We will play two of Duke, GT, UM, UNC, UVa and VT.
The Atlantic plays 5 home games in odd years, 4 home games in even years.
Pitt fans are confident they are playing at Syracuse in 2013. I think this is mostly because they know the Atlantic has the extra home game that season.
We are already scheduled to play at BC on 11/30/13. Let's assume the ACC honors that agreement, but assume the game is moved to Friday 11/29/13 instead, based on the SU/BC commitments to play on Friday nights).
We open with Penn State at Met Life on 08/31/13.
We play at Northwestern 09/07/13.

We will almost surely fill the 12th game of the schedule with a non BCS team, probably a Colgate/Maine/URI type school that will not require a home and home to come to the Dome.

Given all that, my best guess as to our schedule for 2013 as of today looks like this:

Sat, August 31st, Penn State @ East Rutherford, NJ
Sat, September 7th Northwestern @ Evanston, IL
Sat, September 14th, D1AA opponent TBD, Carrier Dome
TBD, TBD, Atlantic on the road
TBD, TBD, Atlantic at home
TBD, TBD, Coastal on the road
TBD, TBD, Atlantic at home
TBD, TBD, Coastal at home
TBD, TBD, Atlantic on the road
TBD, TBD, Atlantic at home
TBD, TBD, Pittsburgh, Carrier Dome*
Fri, November 29th, Boston College @ Chestnut Hill, MA

*might well be Sat, November 23rd, would love to have it played on Sat, 11/16/13 with a bye on 11/23/13. I think the ACC will try and have SU play Pitt and BC late each season.

I hope Clemson and FSU are staggered so we play one at home and one on the road each year.
I hope BC and Maryland are staggered so we play one at home and one on the road each year.

We are surely only going to play 6 home games. It looks like it will be a while, maybe a good long while before we will play 7 home games in a season again. I bet we have less games at home than any school in the Big 5 conference for the past 5 years and the next 5 years as well.

FSU, Clemson, PSU, possibly Miami an VT all in the same season. Got to be one of the toughest schedules in the country in 2013.

Nice post. Do you think we'll play Wake at Winston-Salem since they played at the Dome last year, or would that not matter?

that would not matter - seriously doubt the ACC would care about that when devising their schedules

Ugh just what this team needs.

Wait on it... We will be breaking in a new QB as well... Welcome to college son, here's LB'er U for ya! :bang:

Thanks Tom.

my calendar is updated.

2 years in a row of a busy labor day week of football at Giants Stadium.

looks like the order of the games will be reversed next year though. Cuse on Sat 8/31 and then the Giants on Thurs 9/5.

Oh Lord

Im sure it won't be lined up like that.

That's because we have so many home games being played in NJ in front of all those NJ kids we are working hard on. ;)

Such a competitive disadvantage too.

Thanks for all that work Tom.

Miami is beatable as they'll be coming off sanctions years.. VaTech will be breaking in a new qb.. Clemson, FSU and PSU are a bit rough..

If SU has any morals themselves, we wont be playing PedSt.

Im not against a tough schedule but Clemson, FSU, PSU, Miami, and Va Tech plus NW in the same year is ludicrous.

yeah thats a good idea.

JB will never fill up a 20 game ooc schedule after marrone and co smashed this little glass house of ours with a stupid stunt like that.

Oh Lord

Doubtful any other school would lash out at a school for canceling a series with PedSt. In fact, I think most schools would ne more than good with it.

Yea, a Georgetown won't play SU because the football program canceled games with possibly the least moral school ever. I"m not sure people really see how bad that situation was.

I think the chance of us playing Miami and VaTech as our cross-division games in the same year is quite remote.

But more importantly, man alive, is that 2013 conference schedule infinitely more attractive than anything we've seen since 2003?!

are you implying that the ACC will let us play BC twice? if not, i think you need another D1FBS school

As far as a home schedule its hard not to be excited to play some of these teams at the Dome especially FSU, Miami, Clemson, hell even NC State and UNC. I just hope the ACC spreads it out a little bit for us we dont need a schedule like this year every year.

SU doesnt have the balls to tell the whimpy hoop only maroons running the conf in provy to 'go yourselves, we are playing in the ACC starting 7/1/13'.

yet they will cancel a nationally televised game in Giants Stadium v penn st, because they dont condone the actions of a few fired individuals.

good luck with that sales job.

both with Cuse and with national backlash.

and thats not even with the irony of our own ped troubles.

Oh Lord

I count only 11 games.

You're missing a TBD against an Atlantic at home. You've only got 8 ACC games listed (should be 9), and only 5 against Atlantic (we'll play all 6). Atlantic games should be 3 home and 3 road every season, with 2 Coastal home games in odd years, and 1 Coastal home game in even years.

Time to put the big boy pants on. Year 5 of Marrone, we should be ready to go at least be competitive. No/ Yes?

!! its time to get the show going. Everyone should be healthy and ready to make up for the debacle of 2011. It ain't gonna be easy which makes it more fun. Beating up on Stoney Brook should not be a must win game. Hey IB, I presume the Goose is long gone. Hope you enjoyed it.

Didn't stand a chance Cali, was gone in a hurry

The NCAA may take care of this.
A death penalty will wipe out the game completely. A bowl- or TV- ban will either postpone the game or wipe it out. TV won't provide the exposure or revenue for such a matchup. I would expect postponement by a number of years, coupled with a substitute opponent.
