2013 Syracuse Freshman Cal Paduda working out with MLL career leader in face-offs

This is a definate shift in recruiting by Desko and my perception would be that this has been initiated by the player, we have seen many players commit to Army & Navy over the years that have left after a year or just find it too difficult and Gunnar simply may have had a change of mind.

Coach Desko has never and as far as I can see - will never chase down players like this and try and change their minds, he wants kids that want to go to Syracuse! Coach Desko is a very classy guy and wants the best for these kids thats why we dontover recruit and thats very respectful and also you wont get as many kids changing their minds further down the line!

To be honest if I was Desko I would have been camped at Irondequoit after we missed out on Joe Walters!, schools like Irondequoit, Aquinas and Pittsford seem to have really upped their game over the past 6 years and we have seen Rochester dominate the Brogden cup and National Showcase! without the Empires we are going to have to recruit better in state as its more difficult to see these kids.......ill take the job if required!!! (dream on)!

I posted about the Irondequoit player. Interesting, he is NOT in that picture. He was supposedly signing with another upstate Division I program. If signing day was this Tuesday, it might explain why he's not in the picture. Maybe he is doing some more due diligence with SU a late entry into the recruitment. Again, I am not a lacrosse guy so I don't know how he compares with these others. His coach is confident he could play at SU though.
