A Houston TD that Mike Carey says shouldn't have stood.
Color me shocked...

These are our scenarios at this moment to get in..Bills will likely need to win out to make the playoffs...which would give them the tie-breaker vs the Jets...but they would still need either the Steelers or Chiefs to fall apart and go 2-2
That pass interference penalty against the Jags, when the game was essentially over, will come back to mean something. I know, I know, easier to win the game convincingly and keep it out of the refs hands, but the NFL is very tight these days and you're going to have games where every play matters. So getting a win taken out of your hands is tough (7-5 vs. 6-6 would be very big right now).
Record - 10-6Just curious, why would Pitt just losing to Cincy mean Bills are in at 10-6 vs. Pitt's 10-6?
I'm sure there's some tie-breaker mumbo-jumbo I'm not considering...keep in mind the NFL could always alter the rules on the fly to make things "Equitable" like they did in the Patriots game.
From what I've read, it's going to be pretty hard for them to catch us in the strength of victory tie breaker.Really, any chance you've got the math on that? Beating the Broncos would add a lot of wins right?
Don't get me wrong, I very much hope you're right about that
Record - 10-6
They didn't play against each other so there's no head to head.
Both would be 1-4 vs common opponents so it goes to the next tie-breaker which is strength of victory.
Strength of victory is the opponents record of whom you beat. It doesn't look like Pittsburgh can catch us in that metric so the tie breaker at 10-6, with a loss to Cinci would go to Buffalo.
If they beat Cinci, we need them to lose 2 out of 3 to end the season because they would then own the common opponents tie breaker at 2-3 vs our 1-4.
Isn't the first tie-breaker after head-to-head their respective records against other AFC teams?
Yea, sorry, that tie breaker basically goes hand in hand with the common opponents so I just skipped it.Isn't the first tie-breaker after head-to-head their respective records against other AFC teams?
As long as one of those losses is to Cinci, I think that works. Also the Jets would have to lose one before we play them to stay one game behind them with a loss.Looking at the schedules for Buffalo, Pittsburgh, KC, and the Jets, I think the Bills best (and semi-realistic) bet is to finish out the year 3-1 with a win over the Jets to get the tie-breaker over them, and then hope Pittsburgh goes 2-2 (which I think is possible). Kansas City seems to have the easiest path to get in. I think that would be enough for Buffalo to squeak in?

All require us winning out.
-Pitt loses to Cinci and we're in.
OR
-Pitt loses 2 out of 3 against Denver/Baltimore/Cleveland
OR
-KC loses 2 out 0f 4 against SD/Baltimore/Cleveland/Oakland
The Pegulas are already 0 for 1 in coaching hires. We need to get this clown out of town. Already sick of his antics that are never backed up by wins.
I'm gonna be honest; I'm not really all that upset about the loss. It was just kind of a blah game. Defense did fine. Offense did fine. The muffed punt, penalties, and Tyrod simply not really having the mental part of the game yet did Buffalo in. I think I'd rather keep the status quo and go into next season with roughly the same staff/front office in place and just try to improve the right side of the offensive line through the draft/free agency.
Pittsburgh is the best team in the AFC right now. New England if they get healthy they are the only team I can see beating Pittsburgh.
Bengals are done without Dalton.
Colts/Texans are nothing.
Broncos aren't scary at all.
Chiefs have captain check down.
If Cincinnati can beat Denver the Chiefs could win that division. I expect Pittsburgh to beat Denver next week.
Pats haven't had Edelman, Gronkowski, Hightower, Collins all active together since week 7.No doubt Pittsburgh is playing the best right now. Can't wait for their game against Denver in there this week. Pats aren't scary at all either. They can lose to Denver or Pittsburgh, although Pittsburgh's secondary can be had. What will get lost in Denver losing yesterday is our defense held Oakland to -11 total yds in the first half, and 126 total yds for the game. And yeah, cinci in Denver on MNF vs McCarron, good luck with that. But right now it's all throwing things against the wall to see what sticks. Reality will be somewhere in between. Can't wait..
We can argue injuries all day. The fact is everyone's banged up this time of year. Cinci just lost their qb, no time for crying. You have #12. Denver had 22 players on the injury report this week. We've been missing people all year. Great you controlled a game and were up 14 points, and let an offense you don't have respect for score 17 unanswered points. Of course you'd rather play Denver if you had a choice, of course you would. We've won enough against you guys, I wouldn't worry one bit about playing you guys. We'll seePats haven't had Edelman, Gronkowski, Hightower, Collins all active together since week 7.
I agree the Pats aren't scary now but they have Brady and 2 of those guys played yesterday. Get Edelman, Gronk, Amendola all together on offense. Get Hightower/Collins at LB and their D becomes top 5.
Denver hasn't been killed by injuries like NE has. Pittsburgh is the only AFC team that is scary. Brown/Weeden/Bryant are dangerous with a QB who can throw.
Denver offense has been mediocre all year long. To beat NE you gotta score points. As I told you during the NE-Denver with the weapons NE had that game which was basically LaFell/Gronk the fact NE controlled that game was amazing and I don't expect a muffed punt and the Pats to go into ultra-conservative mode if they play again.
If you tell me the Pats have to play @Denver in the AFC title game or at home versus Pittsburgh. I would take at Denver every single time. The reason if the Pats have those 4 guys above and Brady I believe beating Denver is way easier. Hightower/Collins would be great at stopping the run. Having more than Gronk and the guy who drops atleast 1 pass a week LaFell I think the Pats would score mid-20s atleast.
If the Broncos don't beat Cincy in 2 weeks KC is going to win that division. Their schedule is insanely weak they will finish 11-5. Denver has Pitt/Cincy these next 2. I actually hope Denver beats Pittsburgh to knock them out of the playoffs. I just don't see them scoring enough points to beat Pittsburgh.
2 years ago Denver was the better team. They led like 24-0 at halftme at NE. NE came back and won in OT. I never thought NE was as good as Denver and that the weather gave them the advantage to equalize the game.We can argue injuries all day. The fact is everyone's banged up this time of year.
