2015 schedule poster is out...

I'll give them credit for using a picture of a full Dome. Much of the time they use pics of a Dome with large sections of empty seats. So there's some improvement.

Best jersey color combo I've seen yet, though I think white helmet/white jersey/orange pants is going to look pretty cool. Also, I dig the poster overall.

and it's ugly.

A faceless player, who looks like a walking skeleton, backed by a gray crowd scene. Are we the poster program for the Walking Dead? What happened to lively colors, clear fonts, and real people? At least the number 44 is back.

I have to say.

I think the uniform look is actually pretty good. It's a pretty cool look.

For me, the problem is simple. It's just not SU Football.

It's not the brand. When I look at it, I don't see Tim Green or Donnie Mac or Marvin Graves or McNabb or Walter Reyes.

But I do like the look.

It could be worse. We could have our coach standing awkwardly and trying to figure out what to do with his hands:

I know a bunch of Pitt folks in the area.

They are going crazy [edit: in a positive sense] about the return of the script "Pitt"

They want a return to the Tony Dorsett look and they are getting it.

Again, it's about branding.

You shouldn't mess with a brand that connotes success.

I always open these threads hoping for a different outcome, but without fail, another soapbox for new/old jerseys and generally a fan base in attack mode. Welcome to Syracuse. We would prefer you stick with the tried and true, no changes... even if it means you will have to take our jobs overseas.

another fumble, amazing how su does this. one thing is for sure is that they don't listen and are consistent
How did they "fumble"? I'm not sure I understand the not listening or being consistent part either. Is it too early in the day, or am I just dense?!

This OP sums up what is wrong with some of this fan base, IMO. Its a poster. sorry they didn't clear it with you first or put it up for referendum vote.

It's really not that bad, simple and lots of orange.

They really need to find another football model though. 44s are not that skinny...

I stand corrected. I don't want to be the poster boy for everything that's wrong with this fan base.

Yeah way to go Al :) That's quite a burden you have now.

Its not just a knock on you cuz I get people have differing opinions on taste. But it just seems like we are at a point where every minute detail is complained about so much that it really is annoying. apologize if I attacked to hard man.

Just sick of reading negative comment after negative comment.

Lets go Orange.

Where does one get one of these if you're outside of the area? Do you get one if you buy tix?

I actually like the poster. It didn't make this sites top 14 posters for 2015, but Buffalo did.

Some nice ones in there. WVU and GT stand out for me.

If it were up to me and money wasn't a problem, I'd lock Borkowski in with a contract, but hire a creative director. Even great Illustrators aren't usually the best with typography. You need to have consistency across all your products, which is where a CD would be very useful. And their networks are large, so if they need to hire someone for a one-off project, at least they'll be signing off on it. Just imagine how much smoother things would have gone if we had someone with a design eye to sign off on uniforms. :D
