SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After a historic 2015-16 season, the Syracuse women's tennis team is ready to get back on the court for the fall season. The Orange will take part in tournaments from September to November.
"We will be playing a great mix of teams from all over the country and we look forward to the challenge," head coach
Younes Limam said. "The plan is to get our players as much experience as possible in a tournament setting."
Syracuse will compete in four individual events hosted by various schools. The Orange will participate in Cornell and Columbia Invites in September, Yale in October and Harvard in November. Syracuse will send individuals to take part in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regionals in October and will look to qualify for the ITA Women's All-American tournament and Indoor Championships.
Last season, the Orange competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history, advancing to the second round with a win against Georgia State.
Anna Shkudun, Valeria Salazer and
Gabriela Knutson also qualified for the individual NCAA Tournament a season ago. Overall, Syracuse finished with a 15-9 record and defeated seven ranked opponents.
