Forbes has a story about "Most valuable" football programs that is getting some attention. I took a look at the data and here is another way of looking at the data at a total athletic department perspective. And as always take this with a huge grain of salt because of the variance in how schools treat revenues and expenses.

With that caution I thought this was interesting. If the reporting was truly apples to apples SU has the second highest ROS in FBS.

And those numbers don't include mandatory student support such as Rutgers uses to get to it's net zero.
 
#3 in net profit! For a school that plays its cards close to the vest and plainly pays for their own sports (no creative funding and no state assistance), that is quite a statement.
 
It is funny money numbers. Many programs move the numbers around to be net neutral.
