A few quick thoughts as a life long Mets fan:

But this all or nothing hitting approach is straight dog .  It worked a little with the Giambi's et al because they were all roided-up to the teeth.  It worked with theo in Boston and is working with the Cubs, because lets face it, those payrolls are anything but modest. Give me teams like the Royals, Cardinals and Giants every day come playoffs, when the strike zones diminish, the weather gets colder, and the pressure mounts.  Which brings me to
[*]The Mets can be a downright dreadful team to watch offensively.  The approaches i see are deplorable.  Thank god they hit a few homers here and there, but if Degrom and Harvey can't get back to being unbeatable, not way they beat a decent team in a play off series.
[*]Mets need to find a way to buy out David Wright.  Once great player.  Great person.  He's a shell and is tying up all kinds of money.  That's why i thought it was  a mistake letting murphy go (admittedly the walker signing was a good one).  He could have platooned with Wright and Herrera.
