Congrats to Stanford.
It should be noted that they field 36 varsity teams, which is an incredible number for any school, especially a really expensive private school.
Syracuse offers 7 varsity sports for men, 11 for women. Exactly half of what Stanford offers. If you assume SU added 18 more varsity sports and enjoyed the same level of success with the new sports as their existing ones, they would have finished 8th in the Learfield standings.
