2018 and 2019 schedules are now complete

Kind of disturbing that we go two straight years with only 6 home games. Kind of interesting that for two seasons in a row, depending on when the FCS games are scheduled, we may not have a home opener until mid-to-late September. Hmmmm...

Agreed, going to be weird not to play an FSC team to open up the schedule on that Fri before Memorial day. Thought it would make more sense for us to play W. Michigan at home in 2018 to give us a 7 game home schedule. Having 7 home games this year will be nice considering the downturn the next two years especially 2019 when we may have several late season home games which sets up for some unpleasant weather situations. I am hoping that we will get a home game in 2018 for week 2 because as you noted were looking at week 3 or 4 in 2019 at minimum for our first home game.

I don't say this with full confidence, but giving the benefit of the doubt to the smart people that are ultimately in charge of our scheduling (Wildhack and Dino). I think they're trying to combine solving a short term problem (that they inherited) and a long term strategy.

That was going to make it hard to be perfect.

The real problem is that if most things G5 (i.e. MAC) are going to be 1 for 1s, then it's going to get tricky having 7 home every year. Goal should still be no worse than every other though.

if they cant figure out a way to keep the G5 away game off the same year as the P5 away game...

Need the extra time for the dome reno ;)

im guessing were going msg route with regards to reno of the dome in 18 and 19

2018 schedule is just as hard as this years . 2019 looks like 8 wins

This really makes one thing perfectly clear in my mind. The further removed from his tenure, the more the Daryl Gross years look like an ultimate failure.

He had 1 job - Fix the football program.

As a result he:

1)Hired Gerg.
2)Scheduled us into Bolivian.

It's taking another AD to make the right hire and schedule accordingly.

Please save the "he got us into the ACC" line. JAB had more to do with that that TGD.

Perfect schedules!! Exactly the type of opponents SU needs to play OOC

Hate to play devils advocate, but wasn't his 1 job to raise the school's profile within the CapitalOne Cup standings? If not, the SU administration at that time really bungled this up by aligning his bonus structure to it. Also, I agree that JAB indirectly brought Syracuse into the ACC, but he didn't help the cause with his vocal chords.

Regardless, the right people have finally arrived on the Hill and are doing things the right way. The ship isn't fully right, but it's on the path...

I read here that his contract was structured to reward him if he raised our overall AD success profile. So he spent money on coaches for non-revenue sports. And it worked, from what I can tell.

The fault does indeed lie with those who set the priorities.
