I think you always need a #1 guy. Pierce might be it. But I’m hoping someone on the outside steps up. Can’t be throwing WR screens all day and expect to be successful
Have to admit that the DB's manhandling the WR's gives me cause for concern. Hope that's cuz the DB's are really good and not the wr's ain't.
Butler and Riley have shown they can get open long ... Just need to work on their consistency in catching the ballSomeone has stepped up every year so far. It was Amba in 2016. While we all assumed it would be Ish last year, his 2016 stats weren't markedly better than Butler's 2017 stats. I'm holding out hope that Butler will be markedly improved.

I love that Riley was 155 last year and is now 170. He was just too small. 15 lbs more at that size is quite a bit. 170 at 5'-8" is more acceptable. I don't remember seeing pics of him. Is he looking bigger?IIRC we were saying the same things about Amba and Ish too. Hopefully Riley and Butler take similar steps. We were a Riley dropped TD away from leading LSU in the 4th.

We have seen this in camp the last few years. An offenses best weapon is the element of surprise. Our dbs know routes and trends and that makes the D look dominant.
I hope you're right Ish. I'm not getting the warm and fuzzys from the WR corp and thankfully the OL is better to buy ED more time to make a decision which hopefully isn't run, if there is no early separation for the WR's.
They worry me too. Dont need greatness, just 3 or 4 guys to understand the offense and make the right read off the LOS for starters. I think we have plenty of guys that can run and catch.
We were just a year off from being in sync with erv and ish and this oline coming together as they are this year.
