2018 Under Armour All-America Games June 28-July 1

On the flip side it seems like UNC, UVA, Nd & Duke are always loaded with UA All Americans and they’ve done little with it over the past few years. I know UNC won it all a few years back but they caught lightning in a bottle after a very lackluster season.

One really does wonder about the UNC recruit thing.
Looking at Jacob Kelly in the 1st group. His brother Pat was the #6 in IL's 2012 ranking and became a good D1 player, not making AA. Now we have his brother Timmy at UNC, #18 in IL's ranking, and he's a good but not great DI attackman (27 points so far this season). So his two older brothers were outstanding high school attackman but just decent D1 attackmen, shouldn't there be some sort of "Cry Wolf" thing here.

Oh for the days we used to have 4 guys on these lists. Not anymore.

I am expecting at least 3 of those guys to get selected. Cook is a stone cold lock and Fiorini isn't far behind.
Jeremy, I like to give credit where it's due. You got the number right. The good news is that Cook and Fiorini are rising in the rankings which is nice to see. We shouldn't really care where these guys are now, but instead where are they going to go in the next 4 years.

I haven't seen much of either Cook, but the attack unit isn't real deep next season, so he could see some time. SU returns Solomon, Rehfuss and Voigt, but they like to play at least 4 guys. Seebold was in some games and not just the blow outs, so hopefully he starts to make an impact next season.

Thanks Ohmilax, glad to see Fiorini get some well deserved publication/recognition for a great career. SU is building some great overall and class depth with these last three classes 2016, 2017, 2018 that should help get us back to having some success in May and sustain what has been ongoing success in the regular season save for the OOC schedule this year. As you noted I think Cook and Fiorini and Mangan are only going to get better as they continue to grow as players.

Attack unit is really hinging on what happens with Staats. Should he make it here the unit will be totally revamped from last year. If he doesn't make it your looking at Solomon and Rehfuss back as starters with a battle for that third spot between 4-5 guys. I am a huge fan of Cook and I think he can make a play for immediate PT especially if Staats doesn't make it here. Hopefully Staats does decide to go to College, what would be a huge get for SU.

Here is the breakdown of the number of UA AA’s per college (45 players were selected, one is going to play football and one is still uncommitted)

Five: UNC, Duke, UVA

Three: SU, Hopkins, Notre Dame, Yale, Maryland

Two: Harvard, Denver, Cornell

One: Penn, Georgetown, Penn State, Lehigh, Michigan, Loyola, Albany

Enjoyed watching the MLL AS vs Team USA last night as it was played with intensity. Understand the level and circumstances surrounding that game are completely different but hope the UAAA game is played a bit more seriously without the buffonish antics of last year.

This game should be a competitive scrimmage with some earnest D rather than a circle jerk rendition of a NBA AS . Unlike established sports , viewership will not expand beyond participants if the game is not seen and appreciated for itself.

Call me old and crabby but youngsters should respect the audience, the game and represent themselves and their colleges well by playing it straight . Last year several viewers including several millennials quickly lost interest due to the nonsense and the channel was quickly switched over to a Yankee game. That should not have been and need not be.

UA is weak on providing defensive stats, that's why Lee and Page keep getting donuts.
