are the candidates the Today’s Game Era Committee will consider for Hall of Fame election for the Class of 2019.

Plus
Edgar Martinez
Mike Mussina
Roger Clemons
Barry Bonds
Curt Schilling
Omar Vizquel
Larry Walker
Fred McGriff
Manny Ramirez
Jeff Kent
Gary Sheffield
Billy Wagner
Scott Rolen and first timers
Mariano Rivera

Miguel Tejada

Who ya got?
I think Steinbrenner, Rivera are the only locks.

honesty underwhelming. a bunch of good but not great players to me other than Rivera

Joe carter had a nice run
Edgar if they give a DH a bone

davey johnson had 2 nice runs as a manager

baines had a long career

Mariano Rivera is the only guy that should get in from that list, unless they are going to relent and vote Clemens in.

Mussina belongs and has a good chance of going in with this class.

Edgar is basically a lock i think? Moose getting close.

Doc I think makes it as well.

Obviously Rivera

1. Give us your ballot.
2. Tell us who makes it.
3. You can change till the day before.

I think the Today’s game committee will put George Steinbrenner in.
I would vote for Orel Hershiser from that list. Guy is forgotten for what he did in the late 80s. It was Kershaw like especially in that NLCS against the Mets.
He was good thru the 90s. That Era doesn’t really have a pitcher in the HOF as Clemens should be in but isn’t because of steroids and the rest haven’t gotten in.
David Cone will be a future guy to watch from that committee.
I don’t think those other guys were HOFers. You can convince me on the managers but with LaRussa, Cox, Torre in already how many HOF managers can you have from that Era.

On the ballot for the BBWAA I vote for
1. Rivera
2. Edgar Martinez
3. Schilling
4. Mussina
5. Bonds
6. Clemens
7. Halladay
8. Helton
9. Ramirez

My Ballot:

Mussina
Bonds
Clemens
Schilling
Kent
Sheffield
McGriff
Halladay
Rivera
Pettitte

Steinbrenner

Who will get in is hard to figure.

Rivera and The Boss are in.

I wouldn’t vote for Edgar but he might make it.

I think the rest of my ballot falls short. If Hershiser makes it, it wouldn’t ruin my day. He was pretty damn good. Without looking up his stats, he was 1 of those guys who when I heard he was starting, you just figured W.

Mariano is a lock.

I like Mussina's chances.

This guys numbers look acceptable.

If you are going to bring in the roiders, then Clemens and Bonds will be the first 2 to get in, Ramirez perhaps after that,

Rivera (duh)
Edgar
Halladay
Mussina

There is going to be many, many guys in that 40%-70% range.

It's a very deep class in terms of borderline or better, especially when you add in the star roid users as borderline.

But it lacks sure things.

I think the way Halladay died (irresponsible) will hold him back from being first ballot. He will get in, but he will wait.

:) I knew that was coming.

If Bud Selig is a Hall of Famer, and he was by far the most responsible for the steroid area ... (laughable that he takes all the credit for cleaning it up), then its time to let the mega-stars in from that era.

In no particular order after the first 3,

Mariano Rivera
Roger Clemens
Barry Bonds
Curt Schilling
Fred McGriff
Gary Sheffield
Mike Mussina
Larry Walker (a vote with my heart)
Andy Pettitte

Halladay, Ramirez have to wait a few years.

Manny's numbers are better than McGriff, Sheffield, and Walker.

Indeed they are.

But none of them were roid users. I will let in roid users, but I will also raise the bar significantly for them to get in,. Bonds and Clemens are the first 2 that I allow in first, and then after that I would strongly consider Ramirez.

Walker is my vote as an Expo fan.

I am in the "Let the roiders wait" camp. It's funny, though, that Edgar never gets mentioned. He got a bunch bigger after 29.

Pettitte used HGH. He admitted it. Even with that the guy just was hall of very good to me. Yankee fans love him but he is like Jon Lester now IMO and I don’t consider Lester a HOFer.

I think Shef used.

Yes, I forgot about Pettitte's use. Probably would take him off for now then,

Kinda think him dying might give him a bump actually. Though as more news came out about how it happened, you could be right
