No.

1 cut on 8/31, unless you really suck and can’t make it to 8/31 (cough, Dungey, cough) and then they name the 10 Practice Squad guys on 9/1.

My buddy who bet the NYG money line was thankful.
I can’t imagine betting preseason football but to be fair Jones looked solid.
Jones is going to surpass Eli after week 6 is my guess. Give him that mini bye week and start him week 7.

The issue wasn’t taking Jones.
The issue was taking Jones at 6 overall.
You guys could have taken an elite DL like Ed Oliver at 6 and then with the 17th pick traded back up for Jones.

Eli is a bottom 5 starting QB right now so I don’t know what to tell you.

You don’t realize how much the quality of QB play has risen because QBs can’t be hit anymore.
Eli is one of the bottom 5 starting QBs right now.
Washington starting QB
Murray- Arizona
Miami starting QB

Are the only starting QBs I would take Eli over.
Allen-Buffalo and Dalton-Cincinnati I debated but I would take the young kid Allen and Dalton over Eli right now.

Your GM took a QB 6th overall he knows your QB play was sub par.

Chargers and Steelers QBs are entering their 15th year and their teams didn’t spend first round picks on their replacements.

If Eli was still a top half QB like Rivers and Rothlisberger your GM doesn’t take a QB 6th overall.

Eh. He’s 16-19 passing. 2 TDs, 0 INTs.

If there’s going to be a problem at this point, I’d rather it be a couple fumbles than INTs/inaccurate passes/bad decisions.

I think the fumbling for a QB is much more correctable than being inaccurate or making bad decisions.

I’m very high on Jones at this point.

I’m so excited to see Eli play with an OLine that gives him a chance.

The OL is better, Barkley is elite, the WR core is deeper, the defense is young but hungry and will improve as the season goes on, teams will stop making 98 yard field goals to beat us, team depth is a little better, the schedule isn’t too bad - Dallas is in disarray and Washington sucks - I smell playoffs!!
