I hope you, and all those close to you, have remained safe during this crazy Rutgers like dumpster fire of a year.
With that said, welcome back fellas and ladies! As far as I’m concerned its football time and Dino’s working with a healthy Tommy alongside a fancy Ferrari in the backfield.
We enter 2020 with familiar issues plaguing our offense. The O line is tattered by injury and depth is a concern. Jarveon Howard and Abdul Adams have opted out of the season, so we will be relying on unproven commodities to generate a run game to assist Tommy Devito’s r/s junior campaign. On the bright side, our tight ends are better than yours and we return a plethora of solid wide receivers who mostly have years experience in Dino’s system. Per interviews our players are confident, and refreshed entering this season under new OC Sterling Gilbert. The mans got a brilliant southern drawl too, he has my irrational undying loyalty.
Defense features the return of a bear and a journey of redemption for a savage secondary group. It’s fair to anticipate growing pains implementing an entirely new defense, while acknowledging the continued worry about our ability to generate a pass rush. There’s reason to be excited though. McKinley Williams offers invaluable run stuffing experience and the ability to soak up multiple blockers. We missed this last year, and it cost us in our ability to pressure the QB or exploit what became non existent gaps in the OL. Our linebackers feature a blend of experience and tantalizingly athletic size. Newer names like Linton, Thompson and Cantin Arku alongside vets like Jones and Richards give us depth and talent at an important position. I’ll keep it short and sweet about our db’s. Trill, Cisco, Iffy and Eric are bad bad men. I look forward to the development of Jonas, Williams, Nunn and Smurf as well. It’s never too late to predict a cali category for RGLBL as well.
This year the Cali Predictions are broken into two, through 5 weeks and through 11 weeks. Unfortunately we must acknowledge that while sports are back, because of the aggressively cautious environment necessitated by a pandemic, they could go away again at any time. Really though, I think it may just be more fun to absolutely drag absurd predictions halfway through the season than be polite and wait.
There will be no awards at the five week mark, but there will be an update in prediction leaders and a bottom 5 predictors to throw your tomatoes at.
Please provide the name of the player you predict to win the category, as well as the numerical amount. Replace the “x” with your prediction.
The template will be provided in a post below. Please copy and paste it into your post and input your predictions. Good luck playing for second, I already put my name on this year’s trophy.
