That is interesting. I am assuming it is because of all of the foreign kids on the roster. That said, my son's team's current roster has kids from Japan, Denmark, Dubai, Australia, Brazil, a couple from Africa, etc.. About 1/2 of the roster, or more, are from overseas, and they are all on campus as of early August. Maybe its a Massachusetts vs Iowa thing.

Orange to Compete in ACC North Division This Fall - Syracuse University Athletics

Syracuse men's soccer will play six ACC matches against five different opponents in the Fall 2020. The Orange will compete in the ACC North Division.

It was interesting to see him develop over the years. Actually had interest with the Sporting KC academy when he was younger. Not sure how that turned out. Always good skills, but he was never big, until the last year or so, then he sprouted.
This area really is producing some good players, especially goalkeepers.
