Any thoughts on early contributions for the next class? Any that will earn themselves a role big enough not to redshirt? I can't see who it is right now, but 3-4 will inevitably play past their redshirt allocation (4 games). Thoughts on who? Most of the best recruits seem to be at positions we have decent depth in front.

Do you mean on O and D or specials? A couple will inevitably play on specials - like say LaBross. Right now I don’t see anyone good enough to contribute on O or D.

My dark horses would be Tucker at RB, Thompson at LB and LaBosse somewhere on D.

I still believe we’ll land a WR that could contribute day 1

J Jordan needs to be one of our receivers, can't have our most explosive player sitting on the bench behind Adams, and Howard. Need to find ways to use his abilities.

This is a thread about true freshman.

Re Jordan, who said he'll sit behind either? imo though, he'll get the most touches playing in the backfield.

As of right now, I don't want any of them to play. Redshirt all of 'em.

Every single one.

Agree, because unfortunately we're not recruiting anyone ready to play.

If we do land a couple of those types down the stretch, I'm sure they will play and they should if they're better than who's in front of them.

It would have to be a LB most likely or WR...other than the punter that is depending on good Cooney I suppose.

Why not both? Have him split his time in the slot, and also at RB.
And PR and KR too.
That's what I hope they do, don't want him as just the 3rd RB. He needs as many touches as we can get him, which should open opportunities for everyone else.
If he's in the slot and you blitz, it's possible he might get a LB on him, a mismatch. We have seen he can make people miss. The more times we can get him in space the better.

Would be interesting to see the two RB set we had this year with Adams and Jordan to either side of the QB.
Lots of options and a lot the D has to think about.
