sign them both.
now.
The Boss would have. His offspring? Not sure they will ink one, let alone both.
I miss George.
Good point.Tell that to Don Mattingly who played on teams desperately needing an ace from 1986-1992.
You're forgetting Ed Whitson. And Pascual Perez. And Andy Hawkins. And Dave LaPointe. And . . . .Tell that to Don Mattingly who played on teams desperately needing an ace from 1986-1992.

Or maybe you're not.
Yeah, the best seats were always available. Still, Yankees had the best record overall in the American League over the 1980's if I remember correctly. Just that the years they won 90 games, another team won 90+. They really bottomed out in the early 1990's (The Mel Hall Years). Lucky for us that George was suspended and Stick Michael became GM during that period. And Dennis Rasmussen, and Rick Rhoden, and Scott Sanderson, and Tim Leary, and Chuck Cary, and Greg Cadaret/Eric Plunk doing the starter/bullpen shuffle.
Those were some good times when the Yankees were in the field.

If there was a wild card back then, perceptions of that decade would be so different.Still, Yankees had the best record overall in the American League over the 1980's if I remember correctly. Just that the years they won 90 games, another team won 90+.
