For the first time since he came to Central New York, Babers allowed players to vote for team captains going into fall camp. Previously, honors were doled out weekly for the first chunk of the season before players voted for permanent honors in-season.
Babers said linebacker Mikel Jones, offensive tackle Matthew Bergeron and placekicker Andre Szmyt have been selected as 2022 captains. However, they'll be joined by three others after a subsequent vote ahead of the season opener.
