RBIs are not a part of the formula. Of course his HRs, which result in lots of RBIs, are a big part of his wOBA. First basemen and DHs have generally low WARs because their defensive skill sets are not scarce and they are mostly strong offensive players. It’s also important to remember that WAR is an average number of wins a player would generate. It’s also not specific to a team, but the league in general.
