Chargers have given chiefs many tough games in recent years. Next week will be over quick

Facts are facts. History is history, and history shows OSU QB’s are ill-prepared for NFL success. (Actually, it’s pretty amazing, given how successful they are in college and how well they are rated after scouting, but the facts remain.)So if Patrick mahommes Went to OSU, he’d have failed in the NFL? Not buying that lazy narrative
I don’t have a defense of OSU Qbs. I have a defense of 1 OSU Qb. Those that came before him have nothing to do with him even a little bit. Fact is the previous guys weren’t the thrower this guy is. They just weren’t.Facts are facts. History is history, and history shows OSU QB’s are ill-prepared for NFL success. I also understand that it is a correlation, not necessarily a causation.) However, when you see Trevor Lawrence under Urban Meyer, as opposed to Doug Peterson, it gives a sense that Meyer really doesn’t understand QB play.
It’s interesting that your defense of OSU QBs is a fantasy where someone else went to OSU. I am sure the recent highly rated QBs from OSU were as highly rated as Mahomes coming out of HS, so theoretically, they should have reasonable NFL success.
If Mahomes had gone to OSU, he would not have been prepared in the same way he was at Texas Tech. He could have broken the mode, but history says unlikely.
if you can blow a 27 pt lead, you can blow a 31 pt leadGame turned when Herbert missed a wide open Allen in end zone of first half. Should have been 31-0, and a four score lead at half not a three score lead. 31-7 vs 27-7 is a big difference.
True and deep insight. Doesn't change the fact Herbert hits that throw it's four scores or three TDs with 2 pt conversions starting the second half. Big differenceAs
if you can blow a 27 pt lead, you can blow a 31 pt lead
You'd give your left nut to be able to trade Dak for Sunshine.Props to all of you calling for the Chargers to gag when they were up 27.
I switched over to this game sometime between Sunshine’s 3rd & 4th pick.
Read a few posts in this thread insisting the Chargers would blow it and got a chuckle thinking no way they blow a 27 point lead in the playoffs.
Nodded off at halftime (getting too old for games I don’t care about that start after 8pm) only to wake up at 30-28.
Had to rub my eyes 3 times to make sure I was awake and not hallucinating.
Hopefully, that holds for next weekend.Trevor Lawrence has never lost a football game on a Saturday whether it was high school, college or pro.
I find football fans to be easily the worst of any sport to discuss the sport with. I don’t even tell people I like football anymore, because I don’t want to hear it. I think because there’s just so many football fans that you get a ton of people following who never played a sport in their lives, and don’t really understand much about them.

Sports media, gambling, fantasy football, social media - it all leads to a bunch of hot taking loud mouths who are emotionally invested but have little understanding of anything.I sort of blame sports media for this, I see Emmanuel Acho is going to spin some H0T Takes on the Chargers and Herbert after the game last night. Not to say Herbert is blameless for the collapse, but it's clear Acho wants to push a narrative and drive clicks/emotions rather than intelligent discussion.
ESPN was the pioneer of this approach and FOX Sports has been happy to imitate. It's nauseating. I rarely pay any attention to it. But it gainfully employs blowhards like Skip Bayless, Stephen A, Nick Wright and too many others too numerous to mention.I sort of blame sports media for this, I see Emmanuel Acho is going to spin some H0T Takes on the Chargers and Herbert after the game last night. Totally agree. It often seems to cater to the marginal sports fan.The internet completely changed ESPN. Used to be purely highlights and solid analysis on every game. Now you can find every highlight happening live even without cable, so they have to fill the air time with stories/scandals/narratives.
Podcasts are your friend. No doubt you can choose whom to follow. I pay little attention to most of these gasbags but as a hard core sports fan it's hard not to be aware of them. Wright is on FOX Sports tv and radio. I drive an hour each way to work so I encounter many of these fools on satellite radio. I'm sure Bills fans are well aware of some of them. There is a whole cottage industry of Josh Allen haters out there with Wright, Dominique Foxworth, Bomani Jones and a few others leading the charge.
Yeah I listen to VSIN and Sports Grid for the gambling and watch the Daily Wager on occasion as well.Podcasts are your friend.
I'm a degen gambler though so that helps expand the options.
Loved the SVP tweet at Wright after the last Mia-Buff game "Phone die?".
I’d trade Dak for a ham sandwich. You'd give your left nut to be able to trade Dak for Sunshine.
Thoughts after 17 games?
Yup, I agree with that.49ers are legit but it feels like folks are discounting the Birds because of the last three games when Hurts and Lane Johnson were not playing or not at full tilt. Both guys are practicing this week and will definitely play next week. Also not sure Brock Purdy will be able to waltz into the Linc for the W without facing a serious challenge. Of course this assumes both teams get that far, by no means a foregone conclusion.
