2022 Yankees Season

I would go:

G1: Cortes
G2: Cole
G3: German
G4: Cortes
G5: Taillon

Sevy on-call if anyone implodes, followed by Schmidt.

Ugh.

You don't need 5 starters.

You pitch your Game #1 starter in Game #4 on regular rest, or push him to Game #5.

Some pitchers prefer to go every 5 days.

Interesting play in the top of the first Peraza on first and Hicks lines out to the OF. Peraza was running on the play and went around 2nd, but never touched it. Coming back after the line out he didn’t touch second again. Rangers tag second and Peraza is doubled up for not touching second as he was returning to first.

If he never touched second did he advance to second such that he had to touch it coming back? The umpires thought so. But isn’t there an argument that he never made it to second??

I think they both behaved correctly. I’m ok with pulling him and I’m certainly ok with sevy being pissed.

Might want to rethink your thoughts on Sevy not getting a postseason start.

Rays hold the tiebreaker with the Mariners.

I know the playoffs are all about who gets hot, but being the 6 seed might be more attractive than the 5. The Cleveland/NYY road looks less challenging than the Blue Jays/Houston road.

All of the roads look challenging and short series are random anyway.

Of course. But if I were Tampa, I'd be resting players, lining up pitchers, and wouldn't be worried about catching Seattle.
