It will be a very interesting lineup for Red to play with in his first year. Looks to be rolling out a smaller, faster, more athletic guard dominated lineup. I expect him to play more guys allowing the pace to be pushed. My guess:

Starters
PG: Mintz (28 min)
SG: JJ (26 min)
3G/SF: Westry (24 min)
F: Benny (24 min)
C: McLeod (18 min)

Bench:
G: Cuffe (13 min)
G/F: Copeland (17 min)
G/F: Taylor (8 min)
F: Bell (7 min)
F: Brown (20 min)
C: Hima (15 min)
Carey and Patterson sparingly

Feel like it's impossible to say. We had a general idea how JB did his mins and rotation...we really have no wat to gage what Red will do.

If Bell is getting 7 minutes, he won't be here long. Not to mention, we are going to need him to hit 3's.

Mintz - 31
JJ - 26
Chance- 28
Benny- 25
Brown - 20
Copeland - 12
Bell - 17
Taylor - 13
McLeod - 16
Cuffe - 7
Hima - 5

Bell and Taylor get more minutes than Copeland.
Ehhhhhhh... I don't think Taylor really fits.

Mintz - 31
JJ - 26
Chance- 28
Benny- 25
Brown - 20
Copeland - 12
Bell - 17
Taylor - 13
McLeod - 16
Cuffe - 7
Hima - 5

This is pretty good I'm going with Chance at 25 and Copeland at 15. I think one of Taylor or Bell gets to 20 at the others expense.

So then you have Brown playing exclusively as a Center?

Don’t remember the last time a roster was so full of capable players. Minutes are going to be a thing but at the same time these guys are definitely buying into Red.

Still think Cuffe is going to be used sparingly this season with an eye on being a ‘24 starter.

So it took two years, but we hit on pretty much all our main targets from 2022. With the addition of Cuffe this team has 9 sophomores.
Cuff may be considered a R-Fr. Carey R-Fr. By my count 10 players on the roster will be either soph's or Freshmen. Benny, Hima and McLeod will still have a year of eligibility after next year.

It's definitely an interesting and talented roster. If this team can hold its own rebound wise and not get pushed around inside, the skies the limit.

Love to see them inbound after the other team scores and push the ball thus making the bigs for other teams work hard to get back.

Plus...be basketball players not specialists. I think this group can do that and how they rotate these guys will depend on opponent and flow of the game.

Your starting five on paper is:
  • Mintz
  • Starling
  • Westry
  • Williams
  • McLeod
I'm not getting into minute allocation. You have to see where things fall.
That’s how I see it

Interesting post.

I think it is possible and even likely that Bell starts over Westry. Bell definitely gets more than 7 minutes.

Mcleod will get more than 18 as a starter unless Red goes small a lot and Brown gets some 5 spot run. I dont see Hima averaging 15.

I think it will be interesting to see if Red does some "wave" substituting.

You could have a team 1 of Mintz, JJ, Bell, Benny, and McLeod and a Team 2 of Westry, Brown, Cope, Cuffe or Taylor, and Hima.

Of course, you could also have partial waves where Red brings in 3 or 4 of the Team 2 guys at a time.

I think we go 11 deep in terms of guys that are rotation caliber or better.

The problem is we only have one proven star caliber guy at this point, but JJ, Benny, and Westry all have star potential. I also think somebody else makes a big jump, the question is who ????

Mintz and Starling will get a minimum of 30 minutes. I see the key rotation/minutes guys as:

Mintz
Starling
Westry
Williams
Brown
Mcleod

3 to 4 of the following guys will get the next level of minutes (10 to 20 minutes per game) which will be determined from game to game depending on the opponent, who is hot, and or have been playing/practicing well:

Bell
Taylor
Copeland
Cuffe
Hima

Carey and Patterson will be used infrequently (but there's a possibility that Patterson could be redshirted).

I am really surprised at how many people consider Chance a lock to start and play over Bell. Westery is coming off an injury and was largely ineffective. Bell started almost every game, is a capable shooter, and came on strong defensively in the last few games. Personally I see:
Mintz
Starling
Bell
Williams
Big Nate

Bench
Chance
Brown

Everyone else. Fighting for scraps.

We are playing more thank 7 guys and we aren't playing a lineup with set positions. JB is gone.

You are way higher on QC than I am. I think his minutes fall below Brown & Bell. Bell may be the best shooter on this team. I think with JAB gone, Bell will show up a lot more. I also think KC may be closer to 8-10. Between his injury and the talent at guard, I think he's more impactful the following year.
