How do they pick the "host" school? For example, in the case of the Gillette Stadium games, Boston University is just as close, and Bryant University, and Providence College are both closer? But Harvard is host.

Harvard Fought Fiercely for it. :D

do they do it like hockey and the host school puts up the bid?

Fairfield is an hour from Uconn's stadium in Hartford. Uconn should have stepped up and gotten some extra income.

UConn doesn't have a Men's LAX team. They are a non-entity.

My friend's kid plays for the club team. They were ranked in the MIAA!
Good. UConn can host the MIAA club championship then.
Were you being sarcastic and using MIAA because they think they can keep up with Gilman, Boys Latin, and Calvert Hall or did you mean the MCLA, the college club league (which has its playoffs in St. Louis each year)? ;)

Haha, just a typo.

Shocked not to see a championship in the Midwest or CO six years out.

The sport is growing. Go and celebrate that.

Okay, so I don't know a lot about lacrosse. But doesn't Syracuse lead the country in attendance every year? Isn't CNY one of the biggest hotbeds for the sport?

I know the dome hosted a NC a long time ago. I know the dome can get really hot once you get to Memorial Day weekend. I get where sitting in a really hot, humid environment is a turnoff.

But with AC, the amazing scoreboards, lights and sound system, shouldn't the dome get a chance to be part of the rotation for hosting national championships? Doesn't CNY, the place where the sport began, deserve a chance to host occasionally?

Did Syracuse make a bid? Anyone know?

They're obsessed with NFL stadiums now.

Baltimore, Philly, Foxboro.

As OX says, they want to use NFL stadiums now, with the exception of the upcoming ones that will be at the Rent in CT. Syracuse also zapped itself as a potential future host in 1991, before the shift to NFL stadiums. SU lost in the semis to eventual champion UNC. Attendance at the semis - 15K+ Attendance at the finals 8K+. The NCAA never forgot that.

Would you go to see Towson play?

I suspect the lack of a western QF or FF location is a relic of the NCAA’s desire to reduce travel.

I agree it’s a good idea to grow the game but I don’t think it’s in the NCAA’s wheelhouse.

If they were playing UVa, it would be a big "maybe", especially since they go beyond just ripping you off for parking. ;)
I was referring to the 1991 championship game at the Dome. The Heels and the Tigers didn't travel very well. As opposed to the Orange and Big Red in 2009. :)

Fairfield has a lax team and UConn does not
