Some big names undrafted: Terquavion Smith, Drew Timme, Oscar Tshiebwe, Adama Sanogo

Some impressive players drafted pretty late: Isaiah Wong (55th), Trayce Jackson Davis (58th)

was really impressed by Hunter Tyson last season vs Cuse (37th to OKC) even though at the time I didnt think much about his NBA chances...interesting to see him go pretty highly...and to a team with a great track record of talent identification...I predict he will stick in the NBA.

Overall, shows how hard it is to get drafted.

by my count at least 12 players not in NCAA last season got drafted - so a player has to be top 45 or so in NCAA otherwise, tough luck. and that difficulty will likely increase as the game keeps developing globally and in the states beyond the NCAA.

Hopefully next season, there will be some Cuse players names called on draft day...I predict there will be multiple.

Here's a conference breakdown on quick review. These numbers would be different if you look at future conference affiliation of course.

ACC - 5 picks
SEC- 10 picks
BIG- 8 picks
BE- 5 picks
B12- 4 picks
PAC- 4 picks
WCC - 3 picks
American- 3 picks

Must say, don't like B1G and SEC being far and away the 2 leaders. Doesn't portent well.

2 Penn State players drafted. Didn't JB once say they would never have any success moving to the B1G.
The #32 pick aptly named Pickett played at Siena for 3 years before transferring to Penn St. His stats despite the differing conferences and assumption that Siena was less competitive, his stats were pretty darn good regardless where he played. Recognition and conference favoritism, maybe not the level of competition or the player’s inherent talent level, is being recognized.

If it didn’t leak that Denver was interested in Jalen Pickett, Denver prob could have gotten him as an undrafted 2 way lol

So to clarify...

G league Ignite, 1 team, has 4 players selected.

and the whole ACC had 5 players selected?

hmm. Seems like at G League Ignite might be something to keep an eye on.

Yeah.. I didn't add up the overseas guys totals either.

timme has some outrageous numbers against good opponents. 21 and 8.
does it translate to the NBA ? who knows. but he's a big who rebounds and scores.

Jay Bilas eye-blinking was hard to watch.
in jay's defense realize he had to appear every night on the pre draft show for a week and basically spit out the same information on the top 10 picks he said last night.

All-Americans like Tshiebwe and Timme.
And Sanogo.

Lack of shooting or versatility in their games could be a reason.

But the oddest of all may be that Trayce Jackson-Davis was taken near the end of the second round
An undersized center by NBA standards, perhaps.
But the guy can play.

the NBA is weird...they had no idea about players like jokic, draymond green, etc...the Miami Heat used a bunch of no names and undrafted to get to the Finals...

some of these teams know what they are doing...a lot don't.

its almost like a lot of these guys doing the picking dont even watch basketball

I'm a huge fan of Jackson-Davis. I think he can stick in NBA.

Really think Mintz made the right decision coming back
His ceiling a year from now is probably the lottery if everything breaks right between now and then.

It’s easy for me to say because it isn’t me chasing my dream but I am sure he is stacking plenty of NIL cash next season and can play his way into nice guaranteed money in the league.

The only other time he blinked like this was during the CNN Anderson Cooper NIL interview show when Boeheim got railroaded.

Like baseball, basketball has become all about analytics, but good organizations will find the good players that don't fit the analytics that can still help them. They'll incorporate the analytics without being slaves to them. I'm waiting for the next big guy to come along that crushes teams in the paint because so few big guys know how/want to play there anymore.

Do you think he's sending signals like Vietnam War POWS did?
