Well I just realized this week the PGA screwed over the Canadian Open on the schedule once again. Big surprise (sarcasm). Just makes Monahan and the PGA tour executives bigger hypocrites given how they showed up at last year's event to USE the large crowds and atmosphere at the 2022 Canadian Open to gloat how great the PGA tour was, as this was the event that was up against the first ever LIV event that teed up that weekend. The Canadian Open gets large crowds for a regular event. But the PGA tour refuses to put the event on a good spot on the schedule nor does it allocate a fair amount of TV money. This limits the field of what historically was supposed to be a larger event on tour (until the PGA tour killed it on the schedule starting around 1990 by putting it in September) This time the Canon Open in Hartford was designated a "super event" over the Canadian Open. The freaking Canon Open. Now the Canadian Open, is surrounded by a major and two super events. Players do not like playing 4 events in 4 weeks, and since top players will go to the major and are mandated to play the other two super events we get passed on like we did before (when the schedule went British, Canadian Open, WGC Akron, PGA). They finally moved the Canadian Open to a good, protected spot on the tour when they moved the PGA championship around (2018 or so), and then they had to screw us over again. I'll watch the PGA. But as a regular attendee of the Canadian Open this makes me disappointed. Did you already forget what happened last year? Sincerely **** you Jay Monahan.
