Brining it back for this season. Xander was probably my favorite non-Papi Red Sock ever so I am admittedly not as excited as I usually am. That will change if we look good, I am sure.

Bet Yoshida for ROY and took over 77.5 wins. Far from in love with the roster but I think this is at least a .500 team despite the strength of the division.

Hopefully this season is more fun than last and ownership decides to care about the team again.

Bobby Dalbec at short tonight. Lmfao.

No wonder I am replying to myself two weeks later. Sell the damn team.

It is the end of June and I still don’t believe I have to watch Kiké Hernandez play shortstop for the Boston Red Sox.

I can't imagine the point of this post? Is it to say the Sox don't have a good team? We know that. I would take exception to the rating on Bello. I think he is a stud. The only good thing for the Red Sox is that they don't have contracts that will hamstring them going forward. I guess you could wonder about Story but it is too early to think about that. Even Sale only has one more year left.

The point was to share information just like I did in the Yankees’ and Mets’ threads.

No hitter through 7 and we can’t score a run

I don't tend to go there.
Excuse Me Reaction GIF

So, the Red Sox are 7-0 against the Jay and 5-1 against the Yanks. I would have bet everything I
own that they would not be 12-1 against those two teams at this time. Throw in that if I knew for sure they were 12-1 against those 2, I wouldn't believe it possible that they would only be 1 game over .500. They have to survive the month of July somewhat still in it so that they aren't a seller at the deadline which
I have believed Bloom wanted to be all year. In July, they can get Sale, clean bill of health, and Houck back.
Not to mention Story. They could at least make it interesting if that happened.

Good win last night.

Team seems to be getting closer, but this might be a little too close.

I'm not that confident that Sale can contribute in a meaningful way for the remainder of this year but hope I am wrong. I think the rest of the year will probably be one step forward and one step back. I see them winning 83 to 85 games which frankly is better than what I expected at the outset. Probably will take 90 wins to get a wild card spot. They need Mayer to come up next year and play SS, have Story at 2B and then add a few arms for the bullpen/rotation. The defense needs to be improved for sure.

They need the japanese pitcher. The world will be after him but that is the ticket. 23 years old and a 100 mph fast ball that he throws all day. With Bello, plus MM at ss and Story at second, I like that team.

It’s so hard for me to get excited because for every happy moment I spend another getting mad about Mookie and Xander again
Don't be mad about them. First, Xander signed a ridiculous contract with the Padres. I don't think the Sox are ever going to regret it. I have a family member that works for the Sox. He told me in early 2019, after the White House visit, that Mookie was never signing with the Red Sox again. Take that for what it's worth but he sure turned out to be correct.,

Welp they’re gonna sell. Glad I never let myself get too invested in them this season. SMH

Have too much ground to makeup in the most competitive division in baseball.

What was Reese Mcguire thinking?

With the results of the weekend, at least another wild card spot has come back in play. And while it is tough to see the Sox pulling it off with the schedule they have, at least right now, they have games worth watching. I do like their plan. Casas, Devers at first and third, with Mayer and Story up the middle. Yoshida and Duran in left and center. I would like them to go hard after one of the two Japanese pitchers that are coming this off season.

Just get to 78 wins and I’ll be happy. Sad it has come to that but I’ll take what I can get.

This team really wasn’t much away from competing for a ring. Frustrating.

Did anyone else just hear Kevin Millar? Hahaha that was incredible!!

My gosh what the heck has happened to mlb scorekeepers?Routine ball hit right at Devers that he falls down and makes a bad throw is scored a hit. Just incredible if you watch it that anyone could call that a hit.

This is hard to watch. Just gross. Fluck John Henry.
You are young. And it hurts to see some of the things we are seeing.. But john Henry has been the best thing to happen to the Red Sox in my lifetime. Think about it. Before he came to Boston, we hadn't won in 85 years. In the 21 years he has owned the team, the Sox have won 4 titles. And the ball park is 10 times better than it was when he bought the team. I like what they are doing long term. I brought this up earlier. Casas and Devers at the corners and Mayer and Story up the middle. Duran and Yoshida in left and center with I'm not sure in rf. Teal and Wong behind the plate. They need another young quality starter and one of the kids from Japan would be the answer to that. A lot of comp for those two guys but this is the time to spend the dough. We shall see. Betts was never going to sign long term with the Sox. He is lying when he says differently.
