2024-25 NBA Season / Playoffs

I was astounded at the number of times they showed the injury yesterday. That was brutal. If it was a football game and a player blew out his knee, they show it a couple times. Maybe.

I still play regularly and can barely watch when they show a guy roll his ankle. To see the actual tear and recoil in slow motion made me sick. And then they showed it 15 more times!

I've had 3 guys tear an Achilles while playing. It’s awful. To do it in that moment is so hard for Hali and his teammates. But like Steve said, I just wanted to watch a close game.
I can’t watch the bad ankle rolls either . For me it’s worse than watching an Achilles snap. I believe that is because I’ve experienced first hand the ankle rolls. I’ve torn a bicep and felt the “pop” sensation though.

So I was pretty psyched about the Durant trade yesterday. But now having seen all the talking heads unanimously yammering away on what a good trade it was for Houston, I’m much less sure it’s going to work out well

The trades that Boston continues to pull off are really something. Probably an upgrade at this point in their respective careers, get off a terrible contract, and given assets to do it. Hell of a start to a weird offseason for the Celtics.

I get why Portland thinks Jrue would fit better with their core than Simons does, but I do not understand why anyone would view Jrue as a positive asset at this point, especially given Boston's desperation to cut costs.

I'm not sure if Simons is a serious player or not, but considering what Boston is looking to do right now this seems like a strong deal

Who did Boston give up when they acquired Jrue?
Brogdon, Robert Williams, and two first round picks (one of which ended up in Washington in the form of Bub Carrington in another trade I think)

Enjoying the feedback online.

Seems we’re all in agreement about one thing.

ESPN’s NBA coverage from pre game to game coverage to post is the worst network sports coverage in sports history.

It’s game 7 of the nba finals and they’re doing wacky 70s R&B songs going to comercial. It had all the gravitas of a regular season WNBA game. SAS is literally screaming about nothing at half. It was an absolute mess all season.
If they start to put their grubby hands on Inside the NBA we riot.

Really excited for NBC to be getting NBA rights. I think they'll do a fine job. I like Mike Breen, but outside of that I wish ABC/ESPN lost the finals. The production is terrible.

In David Stern's 30 year reign as commissioner, 8 different teams won titles. In Adam Silver's 12 years, 9 different teams have won titles.

Interesting stat. I did a little deeper dive…

During Stern’s reign, 7 coaches with multiple titles (2 teams with titles from 2 different coaches)…
KC- 2 w/ Celtics
Pat- 4 w/ Lakers (3) & Heat (1)
Daly- 2 w/ Pistons
Phil- 11 w/ Bulls (6) & Lakers (5)
Rudy- 2 w/ Rockets
Pop- 5 w/ Spurs (2014 was a combined year of Stern/Silver)
Spoel- 2 w/ Heat

Coaches with single titles under Stern…
Mavs (Carlisle) were the 8th team under Stern.
Repeat teams- Pistons (Brown) & Celts (Rivers)

Since then with Silver, only 1 coach with multiple titles…
Kerr- 4 w/ Warriors
