saying the portal is open or closed is just a formality. Discussions happen all year even though it’s “not allowed”.

They all have GMs now. Those GMs are all working the portal. That is their job.

Not really. Kline has been working the portal since before the season started...just like almost every P5 program. The "advantage" this year is that we have been proactive.

Not sure of that. When UNC brought on a GM a couple weeks ago, they were only the 5th ACC team to have a GM.

The ACC only has 5 of them. Kline was the 4th hired per the ps article about him recently.

People need to look deeper than a school merely having someone with a "GM" title. I'd be very surprised if every P5 school didn't have someone(s) full time dedicated to scouting potential transfer acquisitions. They just may not be called "GM".

Only four ACC schools had GMs. I’m sure there’s more now but we were one of only four before this offseason.

Of course there’s been someone prior to GMs doing that. Current staff members. Even SU. Somebody came up with Lampkin, Taylor etc.

"GMs" is a title you think the Big 10 doesn't have their recruiting departments looking at portal players and having a plan for the portal? Come on man get serious. Head of Recruiting. Recruiting analyst. GM. All the same just different titles.
