I think it is strategic that Cashman is throwing Gleyber under the bus now. The organization has to justify choosing to go with a worse lineup this year. We didn’t hear Gleyber run his mouth about the Yankees when he signed in Detroit. He certainly could have pointed out that every player in the lineup dogged-it at some point last season, but he was the only one held accountable. Also, I don’t blame Gleyber for not wanting to switch positions. He already had issues at two positions and was having a difficult year at the plate. I don’t think he wanted the extra complications in an extra challenging season. Why bend over backwards for a team who expressed no interest in retaining your services and just traded for your replacement? Even the great Yankee hero and team player Derek Jeter didn’t step aside for a superior player. Sure Gleyber isn’t Jeter, but Jazz isn’t A-Rod either. For whatever reason (I am sure much of it is Gleyber’s fault), the Yankees didn’t like him. There is nothing wrong with choosing to move on, but one party chose to act with class after the break-up and it was not the Yankees. Sometimes it is hard to root for this organization.
Given his injury history I ask Why in gods name is Stanton playing 2 handed tennis in the off season? J/k
Let the pigeons loose...
Definitely improving his trade prospects. Other teams are probably dying to sign a malcontent.Strohman has said that he won't pitch out of the bullpen, so we're just killing time here.
I literally said thatGleyber Torres is not Derek Jeter.
I literally said that
I did not say I didn’t understand. I said I understand Gleyber’s position. You had a bad reading day.So, what was the point of your 500 word essay comparing Jeter not giving up his position to A-Rod, and not understanding, apparently, why the Yankees thought Torres was being selfish for doing the same?
No problem, as long as he's ready to rake in the postseason.
Since the Yankees are not downplaying it, I would be surprised if he is back before the all star break. This seems like a perfect time to make the Arenado trade happen.
Thought you were going to say “rake in the dough”No problem, as long as he's ready to rake in the postseason.
You can tell baseball season is about here, Stanton's hurt and the Mets rotation already had it's first major injury.
Every time I see a pitcher is returning to NY for a 2nd opinion, I forget there's another team...
Strangely, I don’t think Stanton has ever missed an opening day. He usually waits until the season starts to get injured. You can tell baseball season is about here, Stanton's hurt and the Mets rotation already had it's first major injury.
I’m glad to see him being proactive this year.Strangely, I don’t think Stanton has ever missed an opening day. He usually waits until the season starts to get injured.
I know the Yankees are anxious to trade away some of Stroman’s salary, but having six starting pitchers on a roster is not a bad idea.
Clarke Schmidt is dealing with a “cranky back,” according to Aaron Boone, who said he doesn’t believe it is a significant issue.
So you’re saying he’s in mid season form?Strangely, I don’t think Stanton has ever missed an opening day. He usually waits until the season starts to get injured.
