IMO, all top 25 teams should get into the playoffs. The P4 conference winners still get the bye to the 2nd round which consistent of the big 4 bowls (Orange- ACC winner, Rose - B10 winner, Sugar SEC, Fiesta B12). The first round you use for the next tier bowls (Gator, Outback, Citrus, Holiday, Alamo ,etc). That’s the only way to bring some life/meaning back to the bowl games and prevent the opting out.
