Men's Soccer 2024 Schedule

Bonnie’s almost score on a counter. Chifamba last guy back and is not fast enough but Hit makes a nice save to keep it 1-0

Koulakian has a good chance just outside the box but is rushed and kicks it over the crossbar….

Chifamba replaced da Costa a few minutes ago. SU continues to apply a lot of pressure but still cannot finish.

da Costa back in. Chifamba out. Hut out. Wickham in.

The SU womens team has moved in all around me. They know the players and are cheering them on.

Bawa in. Widman back in. Not sure who they replaced.

Holman impressive at left full. He anticipates well, has good size and speed and can overlap. I think he is going to be something special. True frosh HS AA.

SU still down 1-0. Still dominating play. Bonnies rarely touch the ball.

Another Bonnie yellow as #5 tackles Bawa, who was going in for a breakaway goal. Could have been a red.

10 minutes left. SU still down 1.

Announcer just said they are playing 30 more minutes once regulation ends….

A Bonnie defender barely beat Acquah to the ball and as it nearly the end line, he tried to bloc him with his body. But Acquah ran around him, got the ball. Went down the baseline and scored from a tight angle.

There was about 3:40 left when the game was tied.

SU much faster. Bonnies are gassed and their strategy of playing everyone on defense is now shot.

I have an early tee time tomorrow but I will hang for part of this overtime. Shorts and a short sleeve shirt was a bad choice for OT with the sun going down.

Extra minutes induce Coach Ian to empty the bench. Level of play has dropped noticeably.

Thought it was a good start for the team. Coach played a lot of seniors and juniors in the first half and a lot of frosh in the second. Even more in the final period.

Believe there were 3 30 minute periods. I think this was the plan all along and was designed to allow both teams to play a lot of players.

Was impressed with Layton, Scott, Rosenblatt, Acquah and Chifamba.

Also really liked Holman and Ming. Braedon Smith looked dangerous (he can run) and Olcott did well in his minutes. Hut made a terrific save and might be ahead of the others. That looks to be a 3 person race.

A couple vets had minor injuries and didn’t play a lot(or at all). The team is not 100% cohesive right now but that is to be expected with so many new faces.

Hopefully they continue to improve over time.

Updates were much appreciated, thank you!
