I think with our ACC/SEC challenge game being at home, they should schedule a home and home with a P4 team. The game this upcoming season should be a road game.

In the past, like in the ACC/Big 10 challenge, the conferences and TV networks tried to match similarly matched teams like the predicted 1st place ACC team against the predicted 1st place B1G team, 2nd against 2nd etc.

Does this mean that ESPN and the teams involved feel Syracuse will be good this year and a good matchup against Tennessee?

I do realize we played Tennessee last season in the ACC/SEC so maybe they don't try to match up similar teams anymore and this is just the home game we are owed after last season.

Only their second year in D1. Hopefully not a replacement for Le Moyne.

According to my source at Colgate, Syracuse will not be playing them this season.

Honestly a smart move by Red. A huge portion of the fanbase would call for automatic firing if he loses to Colgate. Too much of a sour taste with two consecutive losses to Colgate. Replace it with an old big east team.

If the logic is that it's better to lose to distant cucpcakes than local ones, I think that says a lot about how confident the coaches themselves feel. If he's ducking Le Moyne, that would be my conclusion after last year's debacle.

Yes, Red hasn't lost to them. But JB's two consecutive losses were recently so the taste is still sour.

I agree. But Red is fighting for his job. Similar reason to why it would be dumb for him, while he's on the hot seat, to play Siena. Anything less than a huge blowout and the portion of the fanbase who wanted gmac as coach would get real loud very early in the season.

Maybe he's just scratching most of the low/mid majors in favor of high majors in order to improve NET, although I'm surprised Colgate would be on the scratch list if that's what he's doing since we've playe dthem every year. But he can't afford any slip ups so I assume he cares less about tradition etc. and more about making sure he survives the year.

It was not Colgate's decision. They are very disappointed.

If he's avoiding playing Colgate and Lemoyne he has bigger problems than we think.

I doubt anyone is afraid to play Colgate or LeMoyne. We have to totally revamp our schedule. These two teams add nothing to our resume. We need to get smarter and more creative. You want attendance to increase, play better teams in the preseason.
