2025-26 Championship: Indiana vs Miami

Fitting that Indiana had big plays in all 3 phases to win. 4th down qb draw, interception at the end of the game, and blocked punt for a score.

I am very glad that Miami gave Indiana the best game of the playoff. A team outside of the supposed power conferences.

Classic that after the game is over my feed is full of Big10 tales of 3 years in a row. I think what is more telling is how they are different teams in a row. In my opinion there are no power conferences and it has always been the best teams in said conferences that win.

I found it also very interesting that all other champions between 1997 and the last night had previously won a national championship. Florida was the last program to win their first title in 1996. It is nice to have new teams in the mix.

I’m really happy for Indiana - I didn’t realize that their last B1G title was 1967 lol. That’s a long wait and I felt Curt Cignetti did a master class with how to build a program in this era and not be a dick about it.

Couldn’t care less about Mitamperami - I hope they and their $10m tampered QB fall flat on their faces next year.

My late son went to IU and I was decked out in the attire he gave me. So happy for the Hoosiers.

First football NC in my house since my/my wife's Orange in '59. Hoping I don't have to go another 66 years to see another one. Fran and my younger son's Ducks are on the clock.

There is something special about this to me. Even though it may be a product of NIL and/or portal bull crap, someone wins the championship from the bottom of the pile. Someone other than the usual repeat offenders. As a Syracuse fan, it gives you a hint of possibilities.

That coach's phone is going to catch fire today.

Indiana proves that no matter your history, your school can use a billionaire donor to buy yourself a national championship.
My exact thoughts. B10 money helps that as well.

The moral, you can buy a ship with the right coach, schedule and $.

Another player for Indiana I was impressed with last night was their #2 running back Kaelon Black. The guy has a punishing running style and he absolutely made Miami players cringe trying to get him to the ground. It was fun to watch.

I'm super glad Miami lost, Indiana deserved the W.
I will always carry a deep hatred for the Miami fb team ever since the 16-10 loss on November 28, 1992 in the Carrier Dome. In my mind, I can still see Chris Gedney (may he rest in peace) lying on his back not wanting to get up after ending up short of the goal line in the final moments of the game.
But what really made my blood boil was when somebody on Miamis defense ( cannot remember who made the remark) said to a reporter “We came into the dome and made it our home!” When I read this in the Post Standard the next day, I ripped up the paper.
Fric Miami!😡

We have about a dozen guys on our team capable of the same behavior - bad move for sure but never know what led up to it either.
We have a dozen guys who would throw sucker punches well after the final whistle? Name names please if you are so sure.

Mendoza goes to my church. The Mr Rogers schtick is legit, he's legitimately a great kid. Made it really hard for me to root against them on this run and I finally succumbed.

There’s been a lot of worse teams in my lifetime to root against than Indiana. And that’s not a dig at Indiana. The way Miami acted at the end of the game too, scumbag program.

Its just as much a victory for coaching and talent evaluation. Their "blue chip ratio" is historically low for a national championship team. Most of these guys were super low ranks out of high school! Less than 10% 4 and 5 stars on the roster
Pretty incredible for a sport that's probably the most impossible to "luck" your way into a title.
NBA is a close 2nd but even then you can get an occasional Raptors last man standing on attrition.

Fowler couldn't wait to tell us how big the punt block was for "Momentum!".
Miami of course went right down the field for a TD on their next possession.
I think the 7pts were probably more important.
