I'd assume that St. Bonaventure doesnt use their full 20.5 mil rev share due to being in a poorer conference. In that case, any money they can save could be used to give to players. Thamel's probably justing using NIL as a stand in for general amount they have to pay players.

I don't get why the scoopers just don't say "Bonaventure is paying their coach less and reinvesting the rest into the program". All the semantics don't matter to most fans. What's the strategy behind it not whether its rev share, NIL, etc.
