People questioning Billy Donovan are nuts. That would be a home run hire. Your worried because he hasn’t been in college?

UNC has a chest of NIL for the right coach. It’s just like the nba. He will get the pieces he wants. He’s a fantastic coach. Would immediately be a top 5 coach in NCAA.

7 elite eights, 4 finals fours and 2 championships and now tons of NBA experience. Guy was a dream for Syracuse, and now we’re going to act like it’s not a great hire for UNC?

Coaching in the NBA is not the same as coaching college kids.

Cal, pitino, beilien, hoiburg are just a few of may examples of college coaches not doing well in the NBA.

Donovan has lasted longer and more success than all of them.

People are just pointing out the risks with Donovan. A few years ago, I thought he would be a home run hire for any program, but I haven’t followed his NBA career closely.

SU will need a guy in waiting for when the NBA scoops GMac up next summer. Donovan can come in, learn the ropes and hit the ground running in 2027.

Donovan will have a job in the league next year if he wants it. He may wait for an opportunity where he can win.
