2025-26 NHL Season

VERY moving. I was at Cornell when he led the Big Red to an NCAA Championship. Undefeated season if I recall. In those days the Cornell men's hockey team was mostly Canadian players. He won the Stanley Cup 6 times, the Vezina Trophy 5 times, the Conn Smyth Trophy, and the Calder Memorial Trophy for rookie of the year. He was later elected to Parliament and was Minister for Social Development. AND he was at Al Michael's side as game analyst for the Miracle on Ice telecast (broadcast tape delayed on ABC) in 1980.

Ovi goal #898 on his quest for 900. Off the faceoff. His first goal of the season. The Caps in their brand new Screaming Eagles 3rd jersey.

The Caps beat Minnesota tonight 5-1. Outshooting them 45-14.

Alex Ovechkin goal #899 tonight. Again off the faceoff. Caps beat the Blue Jackets 5-1 in Columbus. Tomorrow night Ovi will play on his 1,500th game at home.

My grandson had a goal and an assist on the GWG at Herb Brooks arena today. #CanAmtournament #proudPops
Good job. I used to play in that arena in a tourney around Thanksgiving when I was a kid. They had 3 rinks I believe. The big one was fun

The leafs Ssssuuuuuuuuuuucckkkkkkk
Missing playoffs is a genuine possibility .
And these stooges have no draft picks anytime soon. First round picks for Matt freaking Laughton and Brandon Carlo (not to mention actual players )

Couldn’t agree more. They look totally disinterested. Mathews gets taken out of the game on a cheap hit, and nobody!!, does anything about it. Soft as charmin

Leafs traded a first round pick for a player so mediocre that its hard to remember his actual first name. (Scott Laughton)

I thought the Leafs would survive the Marner loss a bit better - take a hit, but still be a playoff team. Its still too early to write them off, but they can't stay in this .500 rut until the new year. If you are at .500 by New Years, you are already a number of points outside of a playoff spot.

Devils off to a great start…and Jack Hughes cuts his hand so bad on a broken glass at a team dinner that he requires surgery and will be out for two months. Just unreal.

Not so sure this has anything to do with Marner. They generally were fine without him on the occasion when he wouldnt play in the past. This is generalized attrition of give a crap. Also the speed/ shot power data on Matthews is scary. Hes nowhere near the skater or shooter he was even two years ago. I think he suffered some debilitating injury that will never get better and may even be progressive and degenerative. Of course we are left to speculate since they tell us nothing. Mind you im not referring to his "new" injury from his entanglements with Zadorov.

Treviling with a news conference today. Speculation is that Mathew’s is out for the season. He hasn’t been on the ice since the cheap shot from Zadorov last Tuesday

if that is true, then my guess would be that whatever happened with him and the goon aggravated what was bothering him last year. this might be a good thing if he sits out the year. the leafs can punt the season and let robertson and cowen play to their hearts content. maybe trade Rielly (if they eat money) or Tanev (if he gets healthy cause hes actually good).

they not only traded 1st round picks to the bruins and flyers for mediocre vets, they included young useful players in the deal (Minton to boston and Gebenkin or however you spell it to the flyers. ) i mean the prices they paid was nuts considering the MEH they got back.
