2025-26 NHL Season

that also means he has never been on the ice on time for an icing call
He said started a shift. Icing just means If he were mid shift he’d have to stay on for the draw. Technically nobody can start a defensive zone shift post icing because you have to have already been on the ice

At least for the night Sabres 2 pts clear of Tampa in the east at and no worse than tied with Carolina at 100 pts.

Great job by them.

Tampa going full goon when they're losing as per usual.

Hope it doesn't happen, but took a flyer on Montreal +2200 to win the Atlantic a couple weeks ago; just seemed like an insane price.

I'm a Habs fan, and Tampa did play chippy at the end.

That being said Jake Evans hit from behind on Kucherov with about 4:00 minutes to go was dirty (and lucky that they only ruled it a two), i can see why Tampa may have been a little more riled up after that,

The hit ended up bad. But if Kucherov finishes the play and takes hit there is no penalty at all. He turned his back which in reality could have been a no call, and watching the replay the ref didnt call anything until after the ruckus happened.

One might think Evans would know better after the lick Scheiffele put on him a few years back.

In terms of Kucherov turning his back, he certainly did. But I'm pretty sure the rulebook doesn't make it open season when that happens... the opposing player (Evans in this case) still has a responsibility to lay off the best he can. And I don't think Evans made much of an effort to lay off, it seemed pretty forceful -- but replays can be deceiving in that regard.
