Class of 2026 2025-26 Portal

NCAA average? No we are absolutely a level or two above that. Money is there and we have supporters like Melo and others I’m sure are not shy about willingness to get us over the hump if it’s needed.
My B. Meant to add P5

IF the $$$ is similar, the reality is players want to play for a winner and with other high end players. Perception of the program (SU) will be a factor for all these high end guys in bidding wars.

Right I don’t discount that at all. There is something to sell here in terms of visions and culture of winning even if it’s a new staff but I don’t challenge that point if we are competing with top 10 programs. I am more saying if we are up against the recency of relevance with some SEC teams we have a dog in that fight around culture with Gerry and staff.

A guy like Wilkens where’s relationship pre existed matters too.

Agreed. Until we turn it around.

GMac has a big task ahead of him, but hope he is up to the challenge.

Agreed. This will be a monumentally important year for the program. If GMac can win and be highly competitive with the top of the ACC, the national perception will change quickly and we will be back.

Fingers crossed.

Not panicking at all. Syracuse will get a solid PG. They have to. But it might not be as big a name as many fans want because, at the moment, there are about 50+ programs with more momentum than Syracuse in the last few years.
Yup. It’s sad but Cuse basketball is irrelevant last 5 seasons.
Need to turn it around next year or else it can get even worse

Not looking great for any targets from what i know. Wilkinson is probably going elsewhere. Alex Wilkins from Furman is probably going to UConn, Najai Hines is SJU or Kansas. I really don’t know where the roster is headed. Not a great outlook though.

So Demary is leaving? I’ve read the Boneyard and they expect Demary and Ball back. Wilkins will want to start and that would be a reality here but not Storrs.

I know it’s early, but it is a bit worrisome if they strikeout on all the top options.

This is when you have to pay more than the other guy. $$$ talks!

From my understanding he would replace Mullins.

How many top options already committed or leaked a commitment….
I’m not saying they’re going to miss out on everyone was just commenting on the post that said it wasn’t looking great for any of our top targets. Obviously things can change as none have officially committed.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. We will likely need to overpay. My expectation was always that we likely land 1, 2 at most, high end players. Talent evaluation and value for $ spent for the rest of the roster will be the real key this off season.

It’s not going to be easy to just hand pick your talent as a first year head coach at this level. Money gets you in the door, reputation gets the deal done with the type of guys character wise Syracuse is are going after. Gerry may have to prove his reputation at this level by building the culture and operating the program the way he is envisioning and selling it to portal targets and recruits. Then you get to hand pick the top talent of the type of guys with the character you are looking for as long as you are in the ball park money wise.

Which is why to me Moreno and Sadiq were massive gets. I realize there is unknown with Moreno but the more video I watch the more I’m convinced he’s likely to be up to the task.

I’m thinking major splash at PG, a moderate splash at bench guard and then a nice piece at C but not as big of a name as some are hoping for with maybe another backup big man to compete for minutes.
