Class of 2026 2025-26 Portal

Advanced metrics aren’t that great with OBPR at just over 1 and DBPR barely over 0.
32 pct from 3 4.7 ast to 3.8 TO.

The TO issue is a very big concern. Also the last Furman PG with solid numbers who transferred up barely played at Auburn when jumping up to this level.
To be fair he was a freshman. I think there’s plenty of room for improvement in that metric under Gmacs system.

6’5 PG freshman who scored 18 a game is pretty darn impressive. Your concern is valid though.

You’re right and this kind of stat ended up being the nail in the coffin for George here. However, eye test from watching UConn game tells me that Wilkins has not even touched his ceiling yet.

Evan Miya does not. I have included performance metrics for some of the PGs we may (or may not) be looking at. Also included percentage from the 3 point circle because a couple people are placing extreme value on that stat.

People have strong opinions on various players. Thought introducing objective ratings might be helpful.

These numbers are from the season just ending. Smith’s BPR at Colgate 2 season’s ago was 3.98.
Are high or low numbers good for these BPRs?

I just wrote something similar. Rat.

See my post in other thread. I’ve heard we are interested in Wilkins. Imagine we will have to put up big $$$.

I think we can do better. He is a bad fit next to Doty/Anthony. Shoots on 32% from 3. That is a nightmare match next to those two projected shooting guards. If we are going to roll out Doty/Anthony at the 2 guard we need a PG that can shoot from deep.

Think we might see shooting come from the SF position. Similar to what Gmac did at Siena with Coyle.

IMO At P4/P5 level, you need shooting across the board, not just 1 position. If we are going to play a slower style ala Duke/UConn/Tennessee, then you need top-level shooting from the outside. I don't think it will work at this level with a bunch of kids shooting 32% from 3 and one good shooter. I guess we will see, but that usually doesn't work well at this higher level, unless you get up and down the court and win the possession battle, but that doesn't seem like what he wants to do.

That will be key - 3 shooters on the floor who are at that 35 pct mark or better but also play both ends of the court. End of the day that is what you need. It’s what you need no matter what pace you play honestly let’s be honest about that.

Some guys will be added via portal, some return some
Siena. May the best 8-9 win to make it happen when the lights come on.
